good to know.... aside from a huge aversion to wasps and hornets, I end up with quite a reaction to the sting. Don't need to handle several stings at once.....
I haven't seen them this year, but lots of big bumble-bees. Yellow Jackets used to be just terrible at my place in Central NY with nests all over the yard. One day I mowed over one and ended up with an incredible number of bites on my legs. Learned my lesson - that was the last time I ever mowed the grass wearing shorts.

I have seen no bee's yet this year, wondering if Sandy had anything to do with that.
We had very few ground nesting wasps where our place was; the ground had so many rocks they would have needed jackhammers for mandribles. They did take a liking to the log walls on the house and the eaves of the porch though.
I will not even go into my adventures with yellowjackets.I think i already have on here.We hates them,yes we do Precious.
