Maybe the rubber is worn out from this piece? I can't see what it is but all that freespace seems odd.
That is what I replaced. I noticed last night that the transmission mount moves quite a bit so I am going to “again” replace that in the next few days.

This afternoon I spent more time looking and the right front CV axle looks like it has issues. And today there is a slight leak of clean oil where the transmission meets the engine. I am going to say it is transmission fluid.
So I have an appointment at Honda on Monday.

Honda called and agreed with me the issue is the right front CV axle and are replacing it. The leaking I have been told is a very very small seep from the main seal of the engine and not worth replacing right now. It has not even dripped on my driveway so far. If I go with the Honda CV it will be $2500 and if I go with an aftermarket it is less that $1400. I actually believe he said $1040 but I can't remember. I asked if they had any issues with the aftermarket and he said they did not. And with the age of my car I went that route. The only issue is no matter what part I went with it is not until Wednesday that they will have it.

Good luck Guy. I suspected CV joints when I asked you back in post #58.

CV joints are horrible and don't belong on any vehicle that sees time in the woods, in my opinion. They barely belong on an ATV. Another reason I would never own a Chevy truck. Both of my Ford F-350's have solid axle tubes with Dana 60 diffs and very large greaseable Spicer u-joints out at the wheels, right from the factory. 306,000 miles on my '02 and 132,000 on my '97 and I have only replaced one u-joint on the '02.
Ford and Dodge heavy duty pickups are now the last choices for a solid tube axle in the front.

Car repairs have gone up quite a bit since I started driving. I can remember replacing all four tires for less than $200. You can’t even buy one decent tire for $200 today. I just had my shocks and struts replaced, and the pump for my windshield washer fluid. $2,500.

Guess how much I paid last week for the tail pipe, the resonator, the muffler, and the pipe section that connects to the downpipe from the engine. No catalytic converters were replaced.

I don't even want to think about it. Prices for car parts are really high.

I recently replaced the muffler, tailpiece and pipe from converter to muffler on my 09 Tacoma for $750 and this was the cheapest estimate I could find. I remember in the 90s doing this for less than half that.

Your price and mind were close. I paid $838 before tax. When I was young I did my own brakes and stuff, and even took the engine out of my Challenger myself with a hoist to clean up the engine department - but like a roof, I thought a muffler and pipe replacement would only bring me grief. On my old jeep I am ashamed to admit that when the converter was clogged, I disconected both ends and rammed a pipe through it to make a hole for the exhaust. I had little money for that at the time.
