Millville 1956 Levoy Presents Your Town

That is really cool, Al. When the firetrucks are leaving the firehouse the first one leaving the Left (facing) bay looks like it is only clearing the top of the bay door by a couple inches. It is probably just the perspective of the camera.

    Where is this?

I see it. You know, I had recognized your "hint" photo of the sandpit on savoy/pasadena road and I was racking my brain trying to remember ruins like that in that area. However, I never went down that road because I always thought it was just the sand pit enterance. So i've never seen it...

    Jersey Devil Alternate Origin

I just recieved a copy of the book for Christmas, Ben. I read your review and I am looking forward to reading it. I see our new member is the author! Congratulations on the book, Bill, I am excited to read it. I released a couple albums, one of which is titled in reference to your long lost...

    Jersey Devil Alternate Origin

I would be very surprised if the Lenape had anything to do with the Jersey Devil legend. The Jersey Devil is the quintessential pinebarrens folklore and perhaps provides the easiest insight into the piney sub-culture, historically speaking. An opinion of course. I work with the Tabernacle...

    Where is this?

Never been there. Is it an area worth visiting someday(if not just for the huge sandstone)?

    Where is this?

that used to be one of my old fishing spots. The beaver lodges were not there then...at least not like that. One time I found a bunch of drug paraphernalia at the top of the hill just north before you descend to the old bridge and it kind of turned me off from fishing there as much. Nice area...

You go from nearly impossible to too easy, Guy. I won't respond so someone else gets a chance to guess.

    Where is this?

I'm thinking this is in the iron mountains near hampton gate but those rocks don't look like sandstone in the photo. But if this was taken in the pines....I've only seen sandstone that large.

The lost and forgotten Sandy Ridge Station

I don't recall any and I know I've found a bunch of them, but if that is the case then perhaps this area was nothing but a saw mill.

The lost and forgotten Sandy Ridge Station

over in this area somewhere is a pit that is indictive of a sawmill pit but I didn't find any base for the saw http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.75579737924717&lng=-74.60397373538495&z=20&type=hybrid&gpx= over here also, no base but a typical sawmill depression...

The lost and forgotten Sandy Ridge Station

Yes, I did notice that. Are you thinking saw dust mound? It would not surprise me, however, the brick work seems very odd for a saw mill base. There might be overlapping histories there. the brick foundation might preceed the sawmill. I think that Jerseyman said that sandy ridge station...

The lost and forgotten Sandy Ridge Station

I had thought of that Gibby, the one depression depicted in photo #6 was very indictive of a saw pit, but i've never seen a saw mill foundation made out of brick that I can recall. It also very much appeared as a wall within the depression. Do really think it is too far away to be a station (I...

    Dead Rattlesnake

Well, it was around a curve and if the biker was really cooking and the snake was on the shoulder partially in the grass it is a remote possibility. But I would suspect the snake would have gotten out of the way in time. Perhaps if a car was passing at the same moment as the bike the snake was...
