    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

"God bless the person who invented Peremethrin.Wish i had it as a kid." So do you use this instead of DEET? Do you spray it on your socks and trouser bottoms?

I found a set of keys

Feller's lucky it was you who found them, Ed, but I would definitely say Boyd is right. I do NOT want any id on my keys (but maybe email is good, assuming your email isn't your real name, in case an honest feller like Ed finds them), and here's another thing: don't mark your home address...

That's cool, and your photography is GREAT! What equipment are you using?

can you help me find these ruins?

Nice. As WC Fields said in "The Bank Dick", the resale value of the car on top is virtually nil.

Dragon - Maybe it's the ferocious ticks and chiggers that has helped to keep the Barrens barren all these centuries - along with the Jersey Devil, of course.

    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

Guy - I just looked at the photos on top of this thread, and watched the video too. I actually found the video linked to your Youtube Friendship video. I must confess I didn't even look at this whole thread before. Wow! Extraordinary!

    Exploring For A Few Hours

Yeah! Neat video. So that Russian guy was trying to get to Atlantic City from NY and he would up in Friendship? Well, maybe he was trying to take a scenic route through the Barrens and got lost. It's easy to get lost in there.

Chiggers: http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/avoid-outdoor-pests/chiggers Closely related to ticks. You just gotta love that branch of the animal family! I wonder why I was never troubled by them. In latter days when i went hiking down there I'd wear white socks and tuck my pants legs into...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

The Pine Barrens should secede from New Jersey.

    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

The Pine Barrens were the worst place I've ever been for ticks. That's why I stopped going down there so much. So then, Bob, are chiggers something new in there?

Dr. Smith's Neutral Water Health Resort

I googled up some relevant links, including a photo of the place and another thread about it on here: http://forums.njpinebarrens.com/threads/dr-smiths-sanitarium-site.522/ http://mss3.libraries.rutgers.edu/dlr/showfed.php?pid=rutgers-lib:10973...

can you help me find these ruins?

Thanks, Ben. Guy, don't you get in trouble on the sandy roads in there with that low slung vehicle, as I did with that rented car?

Can you find Quaker Bridge on the Bing map? I tried but it led me to what must be a different Quaker Bridge Road in NJ.

But if you look in the grass in your photo don't you see a line where it changes from short to tall which might be the old road line?

Bunch of new outdoor products from Garmin

Thanks for the photos and info, Boyd. I'm interested in seeing your hands on review. My Garmin 276C has a great screen but it's not visible in most lighting conditions without the backlight (the Garmin 176 black and white screen was better in that respect). I think the Montana screen might be a...
