    Change in ocean color

I surveyed 15 swamp pink sites since April that are all located where humans impact the waterway. Every single one of the populations have declined. Human impact on the environment and the land is undeniable.

Terrain viewer issue with Ease of Access settings

Above is what I get for Apple Pie hill on Edge, but even though I cleared the cache on Edge and Chrome, your other link did not clear up. Here it is under chrome. And I restarted on each after clearing the cache.

Terrain viewer issue with Ease of Access settings

I did note on that link which indicated Edge problems, that the guy was speaking of Edge "Chromium", which I never heard before.

    The Alligator

Speaking of Alligators, I noticed this tail (ridge) in the pine plains as I was looking at something today. It had to be those katabatic winds howling off the glacier top and driving the sand up and over a sandstone ridge. The first image below is from the Mid-Atlantic Lidar 3D, and the second...

Drinking water source for South Jersey grows from Green Acres purchase

I just don't understand why they could not have issued a simple map graphic showing where the existing land is along with the addition.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

I watch the dewpoint before I go out into the woods just to see what I'm in for. This year it's been up in the 70's. I don't keep records of past years, but I don't recall it staying at even 69 for long periods. I wear field shirts of polyester or nylon blend. I took off a saturated one last...

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

For ferns I still use NJ Ferns and Fern Allies. I'm sure you know of it. I did find Athyrium filix-femina ssp. asplenioides at lakehurst, but never saw it anywhere else in South Jersey yet. Yes, Mark went to Tony's course, I think maybe twice. I just never found the time. As to Xyris...

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

I've been on several of Gerry's trips. Sometimes he and I discuss abscence of, or new inclusions to, the Flora of Southern NJ via email. It tickles me how he sometimes leads in his sneakers and regular plants. He is a wealth of knowledge for sure, and his recent authorship of an overview of the...

I'm going to propose that their drains were clogged in a low area.

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

When we have a very hot burn, or a bulldozed piece of ground, Mark and I often visit the location at least 2 years in a row, to see what comes up. It's fascinating to see things pop up unexpectedly, like; "what's that doing here"? And with the new carbon load in the ground, things grow to sizes...

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

That's very interesting. I collect plants, and have most of the PL ferns in my collection. But I'm purely a generalist (but do favor grasses and sedges), and when I do encounter a fern I don't know, I pray the sori are intact and mature. That's rarely the case!

    Beaver Deceiver At Webb's Mill

Thank you for opening up. I've not been on a trip in 5 years or so. I used to consider leading trips into the pines, but I always discarded the idea thinking that people on the other side of the river have either seen it all, or would not care to be thrust that deep into the swamps and...
