Germania always stood out to me because it is such a clean looking building and grounds.

    A photo to mull over

Bob, there was a commercial processing plant near Burleigh where you I believe you are working. It was a LaMonica plant and it was just demo'd this summer. It was closed for years. The brand is still out there.

My buddy Vinny, who taught me how to make wine, also taught me how to find whelks on the ocean beaches around Stone Harbor and Cape May and how to make delicious scungilli with them. He could make dogs*it taste good if you gave him a little garlic and olive oil. :) Scungilli is very popular in...

    Worst dumping I've ever seen

Looks somewhat sketchy there Bob, be careful. Have you applied for a CCW permit yet ?? ;) It's strange that you were just in that area. I was recently contacted by a woman who wanted to build a house off of Pennsylvania Avenue in Whitesboro at an intersection with a paper street. (maybe access...

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

Yes Ben, I played around with adding yeast for about 3 years and I was very disappointed with the flavor at the end. The guy that taught me how to make wine with the fresh juice never added it and he still doesn't. The only reason I went to yeast was because I had a bad year where my...

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

I couldn't do that Bob, that would be a sign of weakness. ;) It hasn't happened yet but I would much rather sleep in my truck, tucked neatly away in the Pines, and then drive out the next morning with a beautiful sunrise in my rearview on my way back to P'town.. :)

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

The 2023 Juice is peacefully fermenting in the garage. 36 gallons of Barbera picked up on Friday night at Gino's. Two hours of scrubbing and sanitizing the demijohns on Friday and 2 hours yesterday sweetening and putting it put up. Can't wait to get stupid! :D Or stupider.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

Sigh. If we could all just start driving electric cars., we would all be back to enjoying a normal climate in no time. Or maybe 18,000 years from now. Give me diesel or give me death ! :)

‘Bulky Waste’ Pickup No Longer Free To Pemberton Township Residents. Fee Of $10 Per Item

Pretty lucky so far down here in P'town. Bulk curbside pickup the last full week in every month. You can get rid of brush and trees and drain oil every Saturday 8 until noon at the DPW, and you get two free tickets per year to bring your own bulk down on Saturdays if you want to do it yourself.

    Chigged!

Let’s get ready for chigger season!! I thought it would be nice to revive this old thread. I got my first dose of those little bastards yesterday doing some survey fieldwork almost around the corner from where I live. Doing a 2.5 acre boundary with about 30% of it being knee high grasses and...

    Music for the day

My wife had this playing on her phone this past weekend when we were in the kitchen and I thought it was Tyler Chiders. Tyler Childers is one of my favorites. Looks like Oliver Anthony is trying to steal a little turf. He even has the red hair.

    Flash Point

Check out Plate 2 John and look at the area where the post office is now. It was the "Broom Factory". My wife used to play in the remnants of that place when she was a kid. Hard to figure why they needed so many structures.

    Flash Point

The wife of the owner will soon be serving homemade baked goods and farm products there and the daughter will be selling her floral arrangements. In reviewing their application for the business, I researched several Sanborn maps to put a little historic background in my report. I stored some of...

    Member "Frolickin" Has Passed Away

Very sad indeed. Too young and just retired. My wife and I loved Geocaching, until this F'n State sucked every ounce of fun out of it in 2015.

Atco Dragway to permanently close after 63 years in NJ, all remaining events for 2023 canceled

I am the Waterford Township Planning Board Planner and a resident of the Township. The Insurance Auto Auction application (IAA) dominated our agenda for nearly a year, with all meetings taking place on Zoom because of COVID 19 bullsh%t. The applicant presented an expert for every facet of the...

    Working with Waypoints and Maps

What USGS has to the 7.5 minute quad sheets is almost criminal. I tell our draftsmen when they inserting key maps onto my surveys and other mappings to only use the old quads. We have a very good library of old 7.5 minute paper maps and I just scan at high resolution and then they can import...
