Yes, I saw that earlier today. It's pronounced "Meh Cheese Caught Oxen" (I read that somewhere).

Yeah, I don't like that kind of statement. Who really knows?

Burned down to sand in many areas. Unbelievable heat.

    Where is this?

I've always considered making fuel out of a foodstuff is obscene anyway. I hope my next car is a hybrid.

    Where is this?

There's a tiny clue in this. See the slice of landscape in the lower left corner.

    Dover Forge

You are confusing donkey train with the Mule road I think. The donkey train rails were in the bogs of Double Trouble, downstream from Dover Forge.

Fall on the Atsion Burn --- A PBX Trip

Yeah, that must have quite a bit of chrome in it to have that much material remaining. I used to carry a buck knife on my belt when I camped, but I lost it...

    Yes, I noted that.

Note the top arrow delineates a tributary (not named) to that Sleeper Creek system.

Problem solved. It's all the same system of Sleeper Creek, itself fed by Wildcat Branch, Cooper Branch, and Hay's Mill Creek. Note that the water which builds up against the old railroad bed in the top two arrows simply continues into the Atsion burn area.

I'm not sure what you are asking. The trail for the mules teams?

I read that link you posted Guy. I wonder if it was for sanding bogs as German mentioned. Plus that train Tom posted looks like sand dumpers. Makes a lot of sense.

A closer look at that knob of land. I jazzed up the contrast and color.

Here's where I think they are both the same creek. See how the flow of water, even if underground, goes around this knob of higher ground on the west side of 206.

Okay, I'm going with "Atsion Burn Site" based upon this, it's a priority site. It's mentioned in this document under Pitch Pine Lowlands. https://www.nodc.noaa.gov/archive/arc0034/0071981/1.1/data/0-data/disc_contents/web_link/text/nj_pine.htm

Where is all this water coming from, just rising from the ground? But even so, why all the linear braided channels?

Speaking of that, let's try to name that area. There has to be a unique name for it in some literature, and I'm not sure the 'great swamp' really fits. I'm speaking of this area below, and I can't see any bogs that would flood this area except the Sleeper Branch at the SW side.

Property Stones And More... Fall 2022/ Winter Spring 2023

All those photos on my post this morning were taken with an Iphone. I too just snap and go. Sometimes I'll edit them at home, but not on these. I may still get a new pocket camera. I wore my Sony RX 100 out. Guy, that one I think I made it to, but it was wet at the time. That's a xyris you are...
