    1/4 mile fun

The picture of the truck was taken here, in the wetlands, not the old road. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.759232623574654&lng=-74.6599531173706&z=15&type=h&gpx= 1930 http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/#lat=39.759232623574654&lng=-74.6599531173706&z=15&type=nj1930&gpx= 1995...

I guess maybe both have happened, but this is real. Sorry Bob, I have come back with mud on my tires more than once to the stares of my parents. :)

    1/4 mile fun

We took our walk at 1/4 mile this morning since it was cool and we wouldn't mind walking in the sun. If you can ignore the damage it is still quite a nice area. We like it because the trees are still short from the fire so you can stretch your eyes. A good area for birding and some nice sun...

    Fence Lizard

We've been seeing alot of these little guys this summer. I guess it thought she was a tree, quick thinking prevented it from getting out of hand.

    I was suprised

Now that it is fixed the FFS created berms around the Scary Hill so people would no longer try and go around it through the woods, It didn't last long. We do not need new laws or maps of trails, these people will respect nothing and need to be prosecuted.

    Canoing?

Evans to Beaver Branch will be OK, some nice beaches for a pic nic. Last week we did the Mullica from from the Mullica canoe launch near Batsto to Crowleys Landing. Lots of water, one good beach early on and abit longer than the Evans run.

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

Remember when the Carranza Memorial was spray painted? The response was to post a sign " AREA CLOSED FROM DUSK TILL DAWN", like that's going to stop the people who would do such a thing! It only hurt us who liked to park there for moon light hikes.

Let's not leave out the dirt bikes, they rarely stay on the roads for any length of time.

Yeah, I got a TJ, no lift and stock size tires and I find it plenty of a challange even getting down the main roads at certain times of the year.

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

I don't know how to fix it, it's been out of control for too long. I'm not just talking about 1/4 mile, there's nonsence going on all over without repercussion. It doesn't take many to mess it up. The responsible parties have ignored it and it has become an outlaw forest. We are just trying to...

Were you traveling between High Crossing and Hampton Furnace in your Caravan this March? Did you climb the rutted clay hill on Tuckerton Road just north of High Crossing?

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

Pines Lover, the new road was made by the FF Service to contain a very hot fire in 1999, I mean the road encircling the area, not the ones crossing the wet land. There was no remediation and the vehicles moved in and we have this now. I remember riding my horse along the RR tracks in 1979 and...

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

Good point Dave, the "RULES" are much too abiguous and open to interpretation. Another point I would like to emphasize is that just staying on "authorized trails/roads" is not enough. I've seen them ripped up by people playing on them. They see a big puddle in a road or a hill and they drive...
