    Snow storms are mythical things...

But everyone does, it seems. I was gallivanting around my neighborhood this morning helping people clear off their cars, and they were all grumbling. When I tell people I love the snow, they get mad.

You realize that pigs are at least as young as veal calves when they are slaughtered? And veal is usually raised for up to 7-9 months. 16 weeks is awfully young, you would not get the most bang for your buck sending them to market at that age, I would not think.

They are raised for beef like regular beef cattle, or are raised as veal. There was a time when the vast majority was raised for veal. Now only about half of them are. (I am not totally sure of that statistic so don't quote me) The market for veal is shrinking. The rest are raised and...

I dunno, I have a problem with killing any living creature, even a fly. Yes, really. That probably makes me sound like a psycho given what I just said, but I just think it's never ever to be taken lightly, and that one should never kill an animal in vain, just to kill it. Yes, I have taken the...

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. The whole thing makes me wince. I support hunting 1000%, don't get me wrong. Without it, prey animals would be in much worse shape. Hunters do wildlife justice. But I don't know, perhaps I am ignorant of the whole thing, but snaring just seems inhumane. I...

    White Deer

Piebald deer are probably the result of inbreeding since it's the expression of a recessive gene, and this gene isn't conducive to them being able to camouflage as well as brown deer. They don't have as good a chance at survival than their cohorts with normal coloring. They also usually have...

    The call of the wild

I know a few people up this way who have flocks of sheep, and have donkeys in the pastures with them to protect the sheep from coyotes. They'll chase coyotes and mess them up. I would guess that a few coyotes were required to overtake a donkey. They're tough little guys.
