    Kayaking Mullica

Recently have gotten into kayaking to explore the pines. Curious what the easiest drop in and spots the paddle Mullica are. Jackson road drop in is down the street but it looks fairly tight. We have a two person kayak which is long and two singles. Just wondering what the best spot to paddle...

    1st of the season

Other than forest firefighters being in a bad spot almost nothing seems horrible about this. Area needed a hot burn, its almost unpenetrable forest. I did radio telemtry thru there, thick thick stuff.

    Cape May Wildlife Refuge Expands

Would like to think a few people played a part in getting this protected. A good example of how submitting T&E sightings to the state gets land protected.

    Bass River Fire Tower proposal

There is a ccc planting off Allen road that was a nice piece of habitat for a long time. Now the trees are getting so tall and shadying out the area proving it to be worthless. There is no shortage of trees or thick pine forest. There is however shortages of open healthy pine barrens forest...

    Bass River Fire Tower proposal

That picture Guy sent the woods looks incedibly choked and shaded. Thinning forest in the pines is a good thing everyone, at least in my opinion. Not many of the rare species I know of enjoy a thick forest, open clearings and more open forest is what they desperately needed for their...

    Amazon - Impact

This is a longshot in my opinion but I wonder what the impact would be on the pines and area in general if amzn chose Philly as its 2nd HQ city. I truely dont think Philly will be chosen because of its awful road system and so so public transportation solutions. Also I think philly’s blue...

The Passing of Y Buc Bill

Sorry for your loss Scott. I always liked Bills posts and insight anytime he provided it on this site. The old photos of him riding through the barrens are special and everytime I see them it makes me wish I could go back to that era in the pines.

    Island Beach

I agree with idealism vs realism. If there was vast amount of lands where animals could roam free of human interactions then I am a hands off type. Reality is humans constantly disrupt the environment and sometimes its necessary to perform studies and research for long term solutions. When I...
