Here it is 46er. Most likely it was made by High Standard for Sears. Some info I found said H&R made it but I think High Standard was more likely. This gun is interesting in that is a tube fed magazine bolt that "...loads underneath like an expensive model." :) Most bolts have a detachable box mag.

Sage advice from Ted Williams. "Buy the best gun you can afford."

Maybe one of these two Joe ?

The double is probably a Savage/Stevens. Sears had contracts with all the major manufacturers. I have a Sears Ted Williams gun catalog somewhere. I'll dig that up.

    Dead clothes dryer

My most prized gun, mainly for sentimental reasons. It was my father's Sears J.C Higgins Model 60 semi-auto purchased from Sears in Camden in 1957. Killed my first duck with it. The gun still functions flawlessly and is built like a tank. High Standard made these for Sears. I still have a full...

Almost. I was, however, fully prepared for a candlelight dinner. :(

    2017-18 Winter weather

Made it home after several detours for accidents, stuck vehicles and downed wires. I saw a transformer arc up and then explode right in front of me on the Pike in Chesihurst that actually left me seeing white spots for a minute. It was actually pretty cool to see. The liquor store in Chesihurst...

    Ken Washington

I just realized that the picture you posted of you and Ken was taken that very day at Frog Rock. Hewey from this site is sitting on a pile of concrete wheel stops in the background.

Yes you were ! I remember you were having trouble walking in the crushed stone parking lot in heels. You might have even had a sip of wine. I think it was you that brought Ken over to see us.

    Ken Washington

Sorry to hear that news. He stopped by my truck to say hello to our group at our impromptu tailgate party at a Lines in the Pines event a few years back at the Frog Rock. I seem to remember I couldn't talk him into a glass of my homemade wine. Smart man as it turned out.

    Blizzard in March

Most of those puddles have sandy bottoms and are do-able but I don't trust what I can't see, especially when traveling solo.

    Blizzard in March

The pics I posted last week were from Batsto-Fireline Road. I stopped just after Lock's Bridge and walked to Wescoat bogs from there. Rain and snow have little effect on the water levels on that road because most of the regularly flooded areas are below the seasonal high water table. Basically...

    Inverted Again

Well I am glad you asked ! :) It was a good day for inversion. This was the road in yesterday. This is groundwater fed and treacherous this time of year. I parked before this and hoofed it the mile and a half to my hunting spot. (Stand on head)

    Inverted Again

I apologize if anyone thinks inverted photographs are stupid but I enjoy looking at them. So there ! This was taken today a few miles east of Dutchtown today. It was one of the quietest days in the woods that I could remember. No wind, overcast skies and glass calm waters.
