    Toyota 4runner

I've had a ranger in the back of my mind lately. Back in the late 90's I had an Explorer. It was fairly reliable and had good 4 wheel drive.

    Toyota 4runner

I forgot to mention the 2010 I went to see Zach, the 5th generation 4 runner. There is one for sale up around Asbury Park for $16K. I was surprised to see it's bigger in both width and length. Two extra inches in width is a lot where I go. I sat in it, and realized I didn't like how big it was...

    Toyota 4runner

My search so far has been, in a word, disappointing and difficult. Let me see if I can recall all of them. You see the Lexus GX in here because they are actually an option for me. 1) I was ready to see a 2009 v6 runner in north jersey. The kid told me the day before I was to drive up about the...

    Tunnel underneath NJ Turnpike

Maybe there is a tunnel for the stream, and that other one is in case of very high water the stream can't handle.

Hessian Island and a marker near by with initials JB

I wonder if they meant an island in the midst of a swamp. That's pretty common, and places only some would go to.

Recreation vs. conservation in the Pinelands

I agree, it is confusing. I don't ever recall seeing that OHV acronym before. If he is promoting relaxing the standards to allow vehicles that cannot legally be driven on public roads in our state forests, than I am against that. That's all I'm saying, Map or no Map. But, I'm not against slicing...

Recreation vs. conservation in the Pinelands

From the article: "If we took the time to gain a deeper understanding of the shared values of those advocating for recreational access and those advocating for conservation and explore integrative approaches, we can achieve equilibrium between the two polarities." I just can't see groups of...

    Herd's Cabin

The lightbulb is an artifact on the 95 aerial. Jess, Guy, and I went out there to make sure it was not something else. There was nothing else. The way back was horrible briar, a walk in hell.

    Forked River Mountain

Hmmm. I wonder if they unknowingly buried a very small population of a rare plant I knew of down there.

Illegal ATVs are destroying our state parks and officials need to act

I understand that, but I'm definitely not saying to use their model. I always said we need about 5-7 big areas that are not environmentally sensitive that can be set up just for them. Old mining areas as an example.

Illegal ATVs are destroying our state parks and officials need to act

It is simply a lack of strong leadership by someone who has political power. One who can bring everyone together and convince all stakeholders at the table that it has to happen, that any proceeds (entry fees) will go to rightful enforcement where it's needed, and that all must help to make it...
