Dear Jesus, When Will They Stop ?

Another batch of tree hugging propaganda and support for the MAP. I guess enforcement is not an option for curtailing the damage. I am sick. Scott http://www.courierpostonline.com/story/news/2015/10/13/atvs-damage-pinelands-enivornmentalists/73841166/

    Lower Forge-High Crossing Road

I reported a party site in "my" part of Wharton about three years ago. It was dealt with swiftly by State Park Police. They set up a sting and it resulted in citations issued and the area was cleaned up by the perps. Given the new mission of the Wharton Super, I wouldn't make the same phone...

    Early This Morning Exploring

Great photographs Guy. I especially like the one of Deep Run. A solitary moment in one's life like that is irreplaceable.

    Atsion: Old and Renewed

Guy, Amato's flooded because the State or the Millers raised the road in front of it about two feet in elevation about twenty five years ago. I remember it distinctly. We used to pick blueberries from the rows near the house when my kids were little. After the fill work, the area around the...

    Atsion: Old and Renewed

Don, Thank you once again for the Dutchtown details. Do you remember the house just south of Dutchtown but on the west side of the highway ? I have attached a watermarked Historic Aerials image to this showing the location . I am not sure when it was demolished. A dear old man I knew named...

    Atsion: Old and Renewed

Don, Would I be correct in remembering two gas stations in Dutchtown in the late 1970's ? I used to fuel my motorcycle at the Wagon Wheel circa 1977. It is currently the little breakfast/lunch restaurant. I believe it was owned by Bill Russel back then and I do remember it being a Sunoco. The...

    Atsion: Old and Renewed

Don, Perhaps I missed it in the thread. Where was the Tumble Inn located ?

    Atsion: Old and Renewed

Fascinating is the only word I have for this thread. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and I look forward to more !

    Christie declares State of Emergency

I pulled my boat out of CM today. Highest tides I ever experienced at the marina. Two hours after dead high the water was still not receding and had surcharged 300' back into the boat yard from the ramp. I think the next two days may be uglier than the hurricane itself.

    Denali is Now!

I agree Boyd. Given the title of the thread and Bob's impish, cheerful but inciteful little dig, "I like this decision. Give me a shout if you do too", I was surprised it took as long as it did to slip this precipitously close to the Slag Heap. :)

    Denali is Now!

I am trying to decipher the deeper meaning of pancakes on a rabbit and I am striking out. Big time.

    The good 'ol days...

Back when Bob frequented area they would park their wagons in a circle as additional protection from the local Lenape tribes. :)

    The good 'ol days...

I lived some of that mayhem back in the day. The stories you heard were very true. It was like Mad Max Return To Thunderdome with lots of beer and good looking women. I bought a brand new CR 480 the month before I was married in 1983. That summer we did a huge group campout with about 30 people...

    Atco place crash

I think you went to school with Chris Christie. Second row from bottom, second in from right.

    Stones In The Burned Area

Under the New Wharton World Order in which we live, I have this to ask about this so-called road: -Is this truly a "road" ? -Why is this road here ? -What purpose could it possibly serve or have served ? -Does anyone truly "need" to travel this road or even look at this road ? For the love of...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I will email the Mayor today and thank him and the Committee for the support. I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I left August's Committee meeting. After seeing how the "Traveling Rob Show" appeared to have been received by the Committee, I held little hope that Waterford would...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Agreed Boyd. It seemed that the description and mapping in the first brochure you linked to appeared to be a much smaller area.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Not one in the same Boyd, in my opinion. Look at the MAP. The "Batsto Natural Area" text is generally centered at the Locks area. None of the roads or trails have ever been posted in that area over at least the last 30 years. Until now.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Nearly every road off of Railroad Ave is free of environmental sensitivity and none are frequented by the destructors. There is no good reason for them to be closed. Auermuller stated outside of the Waterford meeting that they closed all of those roads first to protect the "Batsto Natural Area...
