    Beer (again)

It is very obvious to me that you need a new cardiac doctor. Please have your current doctor read this immediately: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/08/13/earlyshow/health/main518587.shtml or this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-832/Beer-good-heart.html or this...

    Birthday trip

Nice report and happy birthday. I really like the Batsto river in the vicinity of the lake. There is a real mixed bag of fish in that area including bass, crappie, pickerel and catfish. Caught my personal best pickerel there about 20 years ago.

Anyone have a Lebanon state forest nature trail brochure?

In defense of legitimate sportsmen Bob, could it have been this privately owned rifle range known as the Sewell Rifle and Pistol Club that you heard ? Not far at all from where you were. http://maps.njpinebarrens.com/index.php#lat=39.73745532657015&lng=-74.7024393081665&z=15&type=h&gpx=

    Decoy and Gunning Show

My son has a connection with a guy that handles a lot of used decoys. We bought some really nice flocked GHG goose field decoys and some floaters from him last winter. I will have my son call him to see what he has. The guy is in Woolwich. Scott

Withered, Waterless, And Parched....A Guy And Bob Great Swamp Hike

Very nice nice trip there boys. It was a great day to be in the woods or anywhere outdoors yesterday. I'll always remember those ore beds from the Dutchtown hike a few years ago. Is it my imagination or are the chiggers somewhat tolerable this year ? Did you guys get loaded up ?

Bone Dry II: The Sequel (No 1/4 Mile References)

Sometimes I scare myself with fleeting moments of lucidity. I only had two Lagunitas IPA's and a glass of store-bought Paisano last night when those thoughts spewed forth. :)

Bone Dry II: The Sequel (No 1/4 Mile References)

Bob, I am no Mark Demetrioff by any stretch but I do have some formal post secondary education in groundwater, geology and soils. Let me give you my two cents. The groundwater tables in the pines fluctuate widely within any given year due to the natural rapid permeability of the Cohansey and...

Bone Dry II: The Sequel (No 1/4 Mile References)

Maybe it's because the last data input date was July 8. Scroll toward the bottom and it gives you the last data input date. http://groundwaterwatch.usgs.gov/AWLSites.asp?ncd=njn&S=394106074362501 The above data is for the Mount observation well which is the closest to where I was last...

Bone Dry II: The Sequel (No 1/4 Mile References)

I too was out and about in the big woods this past weekend doing a little bow hunting on Saturday and some dog running on Sunday. The camera was in hand both days. I lost my bow release on Saturday, so if anyone finds one anywhere in NJ, it's mine. The first area is located in an area...

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

Amen sister ! I thought it was just me. Dottie bought some a few weeks ago and they were the best peaches I ever had in my life. I was whacking them up in my Cheerios every day for a week. Fresh peach wine sounds killer.

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

Well, it is time to revive this thread. The fresh juice is rolling in as I write this and by the end of this week, Gino's should have a full selection. Prices are the same as last year. I am picking mine up this week. A lot of you have threatened to make your own wine each year but so far...

    If You Hear Shots....

Mike takes his waterfowl hunting very seriously and he and his buds gets all painted before hunting. You really can notice a plain, white face across a swamp background from a distance. I just bought a face paint set at Atco sports complete with mirror. I just hope it doesn't clash with my...

    If You Hear Shots....

Chris, The goose body count so far is ten. I shot two on Monday and Mike and his buddies have accounted for the other eight. Hank is doing great on the retrieves but we are having a hard time getting him to be a chaser dog when we have birds roosting on water. He doesn't seem to...

    Exploding Deer Population

I am only seeing a slight recovery down here. Blue tongue wiped out a lot of our deer here and in the Atsion area several years ago and they have been extremely slow to bounce back. One thing that will start to help us here is the shifting of the zone boundary between 25 and 23. Zone 25 is...
