    Deep Run Again

We were at Deep Run on 10/12 and the pipe was not cleaned out. I was able to walk right down beside it easily. Today I noticed that heavy equipment had removed the mud and sticks surrounding the pipe. As Scott has mentioned online the channel was lined with wood and sticks directing the...

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

On our way down Hampton Road from 206 we crossed one of the small bridges and it was full of ducks near it and I saw them splashing as we crossed. I backed up over the bridge and they flew. However, they took off and flew in the direction of Deep Run and then we heard shooting. Yikes!

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

We decided to go to Deep Run today and stopped a mile from there to look at something and heard 2 shogun blasts in that direction. When we arrive vehicles were parked there so we left. Hunters were all over today. We found a place we felt they would not be at and explored. Make sure you wear orange.

    Forked River Mountain Hike

On a similar subject, have you noticed cars with NJ tags that are black and gold? The car was black and gold as well. Then I saw another car with the tag black and gold. My daughter says you can send your tags to a company that will strip them and paint them a color of your choice. Completely...

    Forked River Mountain Hike

Good to know it is dry. I have a few things to visit in that area and may go soon to check them out. I have stayed away because of the water.

    Closing West Mill Road

The road from the Bordentown Gun Club to Batons camp is really sandy right now. I was sure I was going to come upon someone stuck.

    Closing West Mill Road

I was in a discussion in that on Facebook and I said the same thing. I don’t think too many there understood the fact people’s GPS tells them to go down the wrong road.

    Where is this?

It was really smoky in the woods near Apple Pie Hill early this morning from the fire in Medford. By 9AM a light breeze picked up and it was gone.

    Atsion Turntable

Unless you have a GPS you are just going to have to roam around. So park at 206 and walk up the tracks about 400 feet. Then walk East about 250 feet to the turntable. The turntable had higher ground built up on the way to it so look for what may be higher ground on the east side of the tracks...

    Atsion Turntable

Were you there early this morning around 10:15? I saw a vehicle parked there off of 206.

    Where is this?

I did not say you needed to post the location. You mentioned East Stokes so I thought it was on that road so we drove it today. As mentioned above we visited the smaller sign on the road from the backstop to the pond. As mentioned above it is the sign I was looking for. 2005 and today. Give it...

    Where is this?

All, Ed, Just got home from the area's in question. The photo of yours showing the one deeply embedded in the tree is the one I took a photo of and posted in post 2,351. I never took cords of it when I took the photo years ago. I have been looking for it but felt it was further down the road...

    Hiking along Central Jersey line

I walked on it and it appears solid. You can still get across but some may consider it unsafe. Jessica does.

    Where is this?

I was hoping someone saw that. I only know of Winfield of Pemberton. I have not searched but it has to be a brother or dad or some other relative.

    Where is this?

I have mentioned this before but I doubt anyone remembers it because it was so long ago. The Pine Crest Buck Club was concerned that they may become landlocked and not have access to their property. So they purchased an easement all the way from the Bordentown Gun Club to the edge of the train...
