    Do you believe in aliens?

I don't see how we could be the only life anywhere, but at the same time I'm not so sure big black-eyed things like to abduct Midwest hicks and put things in their butts every now and then. One of my favorite Calvin & Hobbes quotes - “Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life...

finding natural clay in the barrens?

When I was little, we found clay along the stream and around Sylvan Lake in Bayville. They've been up to something back there the past few years and have blocked off all the trails leading to it. I haven't been back there in forever and doubt I can even remember where the clay was.

    Environmental Hazardous Waste Services

I got one once asking about where would be a good place to buy handbags. Guess they don't know their target audience.

It's some sort of spam. This poster & exact thread are on several boards.

    danger in the pines?

That's pretty much all my parents did in the late 70's/early 80's. That's also probably the reason I exist.

    Tuckerton Fish Factory

A river sure makes more sense than the ocean. That's probably what I was hearing about then. Good to see the truth was somewhere in there.

    Lots o' guinea hens

On the side of 70 today, just after the turn for Mt. Misery, I saw roughly 10 guinea hens all together. Never seen that many together. On occasion I see 1 or 2. Didn't know they could be that social.

    Tuckerton Fish Factory

Somewhat related - I heard that off the shore somewhere is some sort of house that can only be reached by boat. From my understanding, it's stand-alone and not on an island or anything. I don't understand how. It's supposed to be used on an honors system - whoever is there cleans it up for...

    Tuckerton Fish Factory

When we were doing research to head out there, we contacted the Coast Guard and they gave us the OK. Really the only person who gave us any trouble was the guy we rented our dinghy from. A huge owl swooped down at us inside the big building. A good portion of the island is covered in poison ivy.

    Abandoned racetracks.

I haven't been to one of those in years. Been meaning to go to Wall Stadium again for a while now. I don't even remember how to get there. I saw Grave Digger beat out Bigfoot there. I got all the monster truck drivers to sign the program too. I got beer spilled on me there once. I was...

    Camping on Delaware Water Gap

Stokes has all kinds of terrains. The ravine is rocky and hilly at first and then flattens out and turns into a forest. There are a few waterfalls as well, which at the end becomes a quiet stream. The trail to the beaver dams (wish I could find it again) was relatively flat if I remember...

    Boy's Orphanage/Naegeli Rd.

I think we were only in the one building. Somewhere in the back of the place was sort of a playground. Wonder if that's still there.

    Camping on Delaware Water Gap

Stokes State Forest, which is my personal Mecca, is along the Water Gap. They have tent sites, lean-tos, and cabins. The cabins are just about impossible to get though; their reservations are usually full the year before. The "ghost town" of Walpack is also within Stokes. A good campground...

    Boy's Orphanage/Naegeli Rd.

I've been there several times and a friend of mine talked to the man who lived and maintained the site a few years back. It was a boy scout retreat/camp with a chapel on the grounds. Simple as that. He passed away and afterward the place got ruined. I haven't been there in a few years, but...

    Kicked out of Carusoville

Ten Mile Hollow is nowhere near Carusoville. I think there may be a shred of truth behind the shack thing though. I had heard a bit past Carusoville there was a shack that a homeless guy lived in, and for whatever reason he had a lawnmower on the roof. It was supposed to have been knocked...

    Heislerville/thompson's beach road

I never noticed any pits, but there are many sections where the marsh grass is flat. Lots of dead horseshoe crabs too. Maybe it's UFO landing sites! ZOMG :v: *waits for someone to take above obvious joke seriously*

    Ongs Hat Vortex

BOMARC is surrounded by serrated barbed wire. Unless you want to totally ruin a good coat, don't try it. I know a kid who was all bragging he stole a sign from there. Guess what? Metal holds radiation for a long, long time. He was a blundering idiot. I blame the plutonium.

    Heislerville/thompson's beach road

I've been out there a few times, the first time at low tide, the second time.....not at low tide. It's possible to get through, but I highly, highly recommend waders. If you don't have any (like I didn't), bring shoes or boots you don't care much about. Most of the trail is muck, but you...

    Ice

Up here was pretty icy, but luckily I was in the OC for the weekend so I missed most of it. Driving back was terrible, as the wind was actually pushing my car into the other lane.
