Apple Pie Hill Tower Smashed Again

as recent victms of ID theft, the ease and thoughtlessness is kind of scary. I had never thought about somebody just changing a number or two to "protect" their own ID. I figured it was the "criminal element" (for lack of a better term) doing it for ill gotten gain at the expense of innocent...

    Tyndall Island Hike, Large Scat

thanks Jerseyman for the info about the island. Was out there late last summer. Did a little wandering around the area. Came across a very large black snake and a kestrel trying to grab a very large woodpecker out of a tree. I think the kesrtel's eyes were bigger than it's stomach...because the...

    Old Camp?

I thought after finding and old forum thread it might have been Ace Camp, but the thread went in way too many directions to be conclusive. It's a shame the kids and some adults vandalize these places.

    Old Camp?

The other weekend a friend and I were exploring what appears to be an old, maybe church camp off of Richards Ave near the Nescohague. Spotted a couple of concrete slabs where cabins (?) possibly stood. And an old dock on the lake. Does anybody know what this place really was and how long ago?

    More mountain lion sightings

I know what we saw was definatly a cougar. Tail was as long as it's body with a dark tip. Dark patches behind the ears, didn't see it's face though. We were near Washington and Iron Pipe Roads when we had to stop due to a couple of deer in the road up ahead. As we sat and watched the deer...

    More mountain lion sightings

you can laugh at us also....two summers ago while taking a short cut through wharton to Chatsworth a cat about the size of our akita ran across the road in front of us. It kept it's eyes on the two deer in the road up ahead. it was an awesome experience! Foot prints on the side of the road...

Apple Pie Hill Tower Smashed Again

reminds me of Alice's Restaruant....not really funny though! Seems to me it would be cheaper to pay the dump fees than the fines and court costs.

Apple Pie Hill Tower Smashed Again

I've been part of a clean up crew on APH and was amazed (probably shouldn't have been) at some of the stuff and the amount we picked up. I hate to say it but there is a lack of respect by folks for the woods. I wonder if they trash their own properties! I love the hill, my husband and I use...
