You're lucky then-apparently through the years they've both added and removed things for various reasons (trail closures, vandalism in certain areas, rerouting, etc...), so if you pick up a new set you'll have the best of both worlds.

I decided to reserve a spot with Pilgrim Lake after chatting with the owner this morning. Sounds like a nice low-key place. No organized activities, nice clean 20 acre lake, and a natural setting. Plus hot showers which are included in the price of a tent site. I'll post a report afterwards...

I didn't mean Bass River, I meant that this place is a private campground which seems to be surrounded by Bass River. I'll check out Arrowhead and Timberline too.

Since this thread has been resurrected I thought I'd mention that the cow tunnels under the Turnpike I posted about some years ago are indeed being widened along with the roadway. I was visiting my parents and happened to be driving through the area a few weeks ago.

I'll chime in since I tend to frequent the Gap/Stokes/Walpack much more than the pines these days. I know a guy who has a camper up at Bear Creek Campground (just down the road from the Walpack Inn) and he said the road to Blue Mountain Lake/Crater Lake really took a beating from Irene as 46er...
