A fun look at the past

Those are terrific photos. Did you notice that nearly everyone is thin?

    High Crossing never disappoints

In 1998 I bought a Legacy wagon. Thankfully, it never had head gasket issues. I had it until last year when it was totaled. I really, really miss that car.

    The Berlin Wall

Istanbul is #25? I like Berlin at least as much as NYC, London or Paris.

    The Berlin Wall

The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church reminds us that the city was heavily bombed. I took a sightseeing tour when I was there. The stops included Charlottenburg Palace, the Olympic Stadium and the Reichstag. The Reichstag wasn't open at the time, so, sadly, I didn't get to go inside. I did take...

    The Berlin Wall

You did quite a bit during your stay. I wonder if we ate at the same restaurant. We went to a place which served only game animals and the like: trout, venison, boar, ostrich. There is, or at least was, quite a difference between the look and feel of the East and West.

Visit to Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen's Museum

That trumps me. My family started visiting Long Beach Island about fifty five years ago. Mom liked it because it was fairly quiet and there was no boardwalk. We crabbed, fished, waded in the bay and burnt on the beach. We walked up the spiral staircase of Old Barney, Played golf at Flamingo...

    Ground Hogs

I stopped planting vegetables and herbs after the hog had eaten all of the fruits of my labor for the second year in a row. It ate my flowers, too. I miss the tomatoes.

    The Berlin Wall

Down and dirty. Toast on the plate, halved or quartered, minced hard boiled egg white in Bechamel over that, yolks sieved over the top. It seemed like a lot of work to me.

    The Berlin Wall

I think that every city has a slum area. Berlin looked very, very clean to me.When I was there, Kreuzberg neighborhood was the slummy area. I couldn't go there because there were riots and bombings. My German professor had to cancel the semi-annual student party because of the potential risk to...

    The Berlin Wall

I looked at the currywurst and ordered something else; weisswurst I believe. This was at a food truck Imbiss downtown. I really liked being able wash down the sausage with a bier...in public...on the sidewalk. I'm also guilty of pouring maple syrup on scrapple. Mom never served that. My...

    The Berlin Wall

I'm pretty sure that I had to stop in Frankfurt, but I was so tired that I really don't remember. My brother landed a few civilian contracts in The Kingdom. Nice pay when when you can get it.

    The Berlin Wall

That's a splendid idea. It does, however, look like a piece of patio rubble. Maybe even Berlin Borough won't want an unadorned chunk of Soviet concrete. There's always the dump.

    The Berlin Wall

That's very interesting Spung-Man. I didn't see that when I was there, but I was't looking at things through your eyes. I loved walking through the Grunewald.
