Our Druids: http://www.redoakgrove.org/ Nyfed Dar Goch : Red Oak Grove The nearest White Castle is in Tom's River. The Cherry Hill turnpike exit is, I believe, in Mount Laurel. There was a Pine Barrens scene in that movie too. I can't even imagine what location they used as most of the...

Trip to various spots in cape may and cumberland counties

I don't know the roads down there at all well, but I do know that if you go out to the water on some roads and trails at low tide that you can be cut off as the tide changes. Be very alert

    Semi-mysterious clearings

Yes, the military will use state park and game lands in emergency situations, sometimes for training and as alternate landing sites in a large or regional exercise. Just last month when I was hiking with friends in White Clay Creek DE we encountered an Air National Guard exercise. I have no...

A Pinelands Newbie - Where to stay?

I guess it depends upon when you want to stay. If you're talking about sometime between now and memorial day you'll have a few choices. After that, things can get a bit tight. If you're coming in the summer, book ahead. It sounds as though you want to be not too far from a beach but have the...

The Billious Fever and Martha Furnace.

Did you get the Epidemics page that I sent to you? There was a nationwide Yellow Fever epidemic in 1852. Even though there may not have been a lot of people living in the Martha area at that time, it's probable that a hefty percentage were affected. Gillian

Anyone been on a "Moonlight Walk" in Whitesbog?

I've read about the Whitesbog moonlight walks. I've meant to go but have never gotten around to it. I'll bet the bogs are a pretty sight under a full moon. Don't forget about the Jersey Devil hunt. There's a camp fire and you get to roast hot dogs before the walk.

    PBS "Country Boys"

I tuned in just a bit before you did Scott. I wish I'd seen more of it. I know what you mean about the coal towns of NEPA. I grew up in that area and have been through many of them. Reminds me of the documentaries I've seen about poverty in Appalachia. When I lived in North Carolina, I lived a...

    Going Camera Crazy

That really about covers it. Lots of good information in the above posts. The only other thing that I can think of is physical damage. If thats the case, then the easiest thing to do is to try another cable. Cables are not easily damaged but it can happen. If that doesn't work, there might be...

    Going Camera Crazy

What have you done so far to correct the situation? I'd dump the software, run every scan that I could find to check for viruses and spyware etc just for the heck of it, then reload the software. It's a low impact start. Gillian

Strange place on Sooy Place Rd

I noticed that a while back when there was a discussion on this board about houses on the nearby lake. Jeff knew something about the houses or area. I remember thinking just the same thing, that it looked like a failed development plan. There's another further east on Rt. 72, mostly opposite...

    Link on an Oklahoma Website

I have heard many people say, "I have a book in me, if only I could get on paper". You can write a book; you're intelligent, articulate and well organized. "...So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning...
