It's a great book and costs around $60-$70 but worth it. The book lists all of the stations including the stops that were made in the Pine Barrens. I picked up the book at the CRNJ fair they had at Jersey City but Marilyn also has several copies. You can also order from...

    Abandoned quarry- N. Jersey- Explore?

Hello Jim, I wish you would've told me that you were going to be up this way. I could've showed you some of the area. I didn't know that Old Mine Road was closed in that area. I will inquire about it. The dirt road you inquired about is a good one. There are still some standing homes as...

I never really care too much for the gadgets; just the Horsepower. I really like the Jeeps and it appears to be the most popular among 4-Wheelers. Best of luck! Ken

    Amatol

Hey guys, sorry I bailed. but with those nasty branches hitting, I had no choice. Steven was VERY upset with me as he and Matthew wanted to continue. I'm very glad to see that they had a good time and it looks like I may have them hooked on exploring. I'm not really sure if they liked the...

    Abandoned quarry- N. Jersey- Explore?

Barry, I would like to go. If there's still time left, we can go to the Old Mine Road but that is quite a trip. We can also hit Waterloo Village which is a lot closer. If anyone would like a tour of the Old Mine Road, just let me know. I would suggest an overnight since many of you are...

Ken, Retreat is in Southhampton township just SE of Vincentown. It is not far from the Red Lion circle which is the intersection of 206 and 70. The link below is the section of a 1949 map that shows the location in about the middle of the map. http://www.njpinebarrens.com/~teegate/pemb.jpg...

Bruce had taken some nice shots of Howardsville but I don't know how accessible it is. Where is Retreat? I've seen this in Beck's book but I can't seem to find it on any of my maps. I always wanted to find where this Harris Station is. I wonder if there's anything to see? Hey, what about Calico...

Renee Count me in as a nut...I've already started my Christmas decorating and am working with my students for their Christmas program...I have 30 people coming over Thursday, so I wanted it decorated. Well, you're not alone. My wife says that it weren't for women, there would be no...

    Kodak film

I still use both only because the 35MM has a better telescopic lens. Eventually, I have to wind up scanning those shots so I have them ready to upload or send out. I'm going to have to see if the Kodak digital camera has one available. If so, Santa will get a new request :-)
