    Do you care?

Great idea. I will do the same with the exception of using snail-mail. Most of out representatives should have e-mail by now. It's on its way Ken

Friendship Article in SJ Courier Post

Does anyone else remember when there was a paved road heading from Friendship to Speedwell or am I imagining it? The road, while paved, was in horrible shape. I also believe I saw a county sign of 5 or 6xx; it was during the early eighties.

    Long Cripple

Is Jersey Lightning more potent than 151 & Coke? I can remember those days when I had a few and than chased it down with a shot of 151. Just thinking about it now makes me sick

    Howardsville.......almost made it.

Ben, Absolutely. Once I took a look at the pictures you took I knew I had to visit there. Thanks for the offer. BTW, did you ever deploy the Jabber client at work? We did and it's been a nightmare. The client itself is so-so because it lacks many of he features that we were looking for...

    Sandy Ridge Station

Anytime. BTW, nice pictures. I only wish I got the jump on the Pines as you did. I started in 1981 which was too late. It seems that you captured so much as shown in your photos. Thanks for sharing!

Rats! How far of a walk is it to from the back way? If it isn't too far, I may explore by foot.

    The onion

I'm still a republican but think I don't think I will be voting for the upcoming election as I'm not to happy with Bush or the candidates I've seen representing the democrats. As far as drilling in Alaska, I think we are better off trying to find a solution other than oil.

    railroads in the pines

You're good! Speaking on the subject: This summer I was looking for the Terra Cotta Factory and ran into a Ranger in the area. I had asked him about it and also mentioned the other place it's commonly known as in here. He scratched his head and said he honestly didn't know. Well, we got on...

    railroads in the pines

We're on the same track, so to speak. The last train (Conrail) on that track was 8/3/78.

    railroads in the pines

Renee, Welcome back. Hope you and your family enjoyed your trip. Thanks for the great article. I do agree with Guy on the dates being incorrect. I will do a lookup in my books tonight as I just love trains and the Pine Barrens. Did I also mention that the tracks that went through...

    railroads in the pines

Guy, I believe the last year that Conrail passed through Chatsworth or pass Lakehurst was 1976.

    Lakehurst

Nimbys are everywhere. They move next to Raceway Park and now want the track closed. They complain about traffic but don't want train service. They want better cell phone reception but aren't willing to put up with cell towers. They move here in Sussex County and complain about Bears and...

    Eagles

Sorry for your loss. Carolina is too tough this year. They beat the Peckers and the Lambs in their own home. Eagles have lost too many good players through Free Agency.

    Exploring this weekend?

Exploring? Err, no. Too damn cold up here although, I hear you're not that far behind. We had several days were we woke up to -2 and -3 without the wind chill factor included. We did mange to get up to 10 degrees and a balmy 27 today. What's the weather like down there? I think I will be...

    Can I do it?

We need Ben to add a "Support Forum" for those of us, including me, who just can't get enough exploring in. In 1989 I was heading to work down to RT287 thinking about one of the chapters I was reading in Beck's book when all of a sudden I found myself missing the exit and continuing south to...
