Towers of Fire: Iron Production in the Pine Barrens

The answer to that is no. However the purpose of the cannon ball in most cases was to damage forts and ships, etc. A ball that would shatter on these things would be pretty useless. Steve

    The Oswego is calling

Close or should I say a very low branch. A strainer is usually a tree with branches (or not) that is laying across in the river (or any debris). In normal or low water it's not too much of a problem. But in High or fast water they can be dangerous. The tree catches you but the water keeps moving...

    Random Notes-ATV Park

It does not make sense to travel very long distances to dump trash. That is why the trash in that area is most likely from locals. Steve

    The Oswego is calling

Did the Oswego on Monday. Levels were WAY high. Very fast with lots of strainers. The water was so fast the strainers were almost impossible to avoid and I got caught in most of them. Steve

Towers of Fire: Iron Production in the Pine Barrens

I don't know about useless but everything I've read about the demise of the Jersey iron business blames it in part to the superior iron in PA. Steve

    Don't buy an Apple

I've never liked the idea of All-In-Ones. If one feature breaks and is in for service you're out all three until it's repaired. Steve

    Don't buy an Apple

I've had two "Billy Bob" computers and now I have an HP. They've all worked fine for me.

    Woodland targets off-road vehicles

I guess you didn't understand my reply. Don't you feel entitled to drive on the roads through the Pines? The State maintains those roads. So why shouldn't they also foot the bill for an Off-Road park. And I in no way endorse the closing of State Parks, I was just making a point. Steve

    Woodland targets off-road vehicles

Everybody is taking issue with everyone's statements so I'll jump in. Boyd, with your line of thinking, the state should stop maintaining roads in the Pines. Why pander to the folks that want to drive, horseback or hike on those roads? Forget about making more hiking trails, they shouldn't even...

The Tracker from Tom Brown Jr.
