    Blast from the Past!

My My, This fills in a few holes.Folks sure had differences and aired them openly.Kinda too Chatroomy. I noticed from this site that this JEFFD fancies himself the songwriter but there's some hoots over there. The resulting dialogue of the 9/29/02 thread by Guy relating to a newspaper...

    Wilderness Camping

Summer of '92 I was on a camping/canoeing kick and did various spots along the Mullica between Forks and not quite Atsion. And come to think of it now that I recall, the Batsto. I had tried that in my teens and found some cooler places to camp. Called it CAMPCANOE92. My Uncle lives on the Mullica...

Things that shouldn't be done in the Pines.

Please don't let that stop you. The law is obvious but, the officer is realistic. No matter what medium I use, ( obviously you are safe walking ) I take stuff out. Now, This weekend for instance, if I was stopped in my car and my little baggie searched which is obviously trash, You see a couple...

    Mary Ann (Mariann) Forge

Not to get this thread off topic but, looking at your posts is informative. Does what you do allow you to "pick" local work or do you have to travel alot.A local focus would explain I guess the edge or the knowledge of pines related archaeology. Is there specific schooling for the different...

    Quaker Bridge Road

Good to see so many people out today. Once again I had time to kill with just me & my youngest so whatelse... Piled him into my car, yes car and off we went. So many people out, horses, walkers, byciclists, eduro riders, jeeps & such. Parked out at the bridge by some forestry vehicles. Just...

Steer could still be roaming the Pines

This silly thing has been out and about for awhile, during it's first escape it spent some time right behind where I work in West Berlin. That I believe was it's initial escapade with local law enforcement. Now I really do not know if it's alive or not, or whether that's good or not, but it...

    Sawmills

Maybe I misunderstood. It seemed to me that pitsawing was a manual system. I did not think it had anything to do with these operations so I guessed that the "depressions, trenches" etc. near the mounting bases may have had something to do with the refuse of the machinery...

Why are so many folks afraid of the pine barrens at night?

You have to give it a chance & be realistic. Yes, it can be unnerving if you let some wierd sounds & such get to you. But stop, listen, look. It's fantastic beyond compare. Unpolluted with Man's sound & Presence. On a very cold night when even most woodsy things are dormant, I find myself in awe...

    Dodged a bullet last night....

"Heart rotten" seems to be the norm out this way. Crispy on the outside , most & chewy on the inside. I wound up with a few nice chunks down in my backyard. Power out all day this way did kind of stink. From what I can see though we got off easy.

Oh heck, if anyone needs a laugh at my expense

Everyone I am sure has the same weather down here that I do in Waterford. I was out early, cleaned the cars off, went to get the paper & a coffee. The usual.Roads kind of lousy, wind is wicked etc. Back home I help get everyone ready for church & I am staying home. I warm up the van...
