Ooooh Ahhhh!! Love it!! Today, I checked out Saddler's Woods. It has a trail map you can download and a "Tree Tour" . Man it was a bit difficult I had to trek my Son up and down hiking stairs and over branches/stumps and then all the way through Newton's Creek got a little wet. No chiggers...

I know. I have read it. I am just busting your Pygmy Pine chops, lol. It is actually what intrigued me about this site. Besides you guys talking about me being stuck in the sand like an idiot. It was the first article I checked out.

Here's a question off topic..has anyone been to the Unexpected preserve in Winslow. I have heard it is by appointment only. Is it worth going to? Thanks IMKMS. That has also been on my list the Parker preserve. I thought it would be incredibly rustic, but seems to be I'd be able to explore a...

In reading up on this place..they allow hunting in a county park? Around here that is never permisssble. I thought they were really only permitted in the WMA/Fish and Wildlife Areas. They do shotgun hunting. Now, all this kind of frightens me come the late fall/winter season. I don't want...

I Guess you are Old Crazy for a reason! That picture is nuts. That's a lot of weight to be putting on your back holy hell. However, it does look like a viable device when he gets older. Hmmmm. I'll post pics of estell when i go this week! Woo hoo! Gonna get into some pines!

Old crazy you go at night?? You're nuts. It's pitch black back there. No wonder you can't see the poo. Heard there's great trails around the Carranza site as well. I was out there a month ago, but didn't quite explore. Estell is a DEFINITE this week. Keep em coming.

I hate chiggers and have experienced these wonderful southern pests this year. Baby chigger free, thank goodness. I don't want that awful experience again so I appreciate all the info guys. Think I may head to the boardwalk at Estell since it is raised this week. This time of year is gorgeous...

Haha. It's like a luggage carrier!! I can't imagine how you would convert that. He's 14 months and tall/big for his age. Plus, weighs at least 30lbs. Pakin Pond is on my list. Yet, Estell Manor I never had!! It is freaking huge. I get so excited about our state anymore!! I adore it!! Now, does...

Oooh never heard of the boardwalk. Interesting. I can trek through Manumuskin and those trails are horrendously maintained via Barth Rd. I have gone down steep stairs with a stroller. Lifted it over broken trees blocking the trail. I'm pretty gangsta. Lol. The stroller is pretty hardcore and...

    batona trail hike

May be hitting Batona this week. I've been able to pick up a hiking map. However, I know the trail is one of the largest in the state. I want to know a great area that I can hike a few miles and is rather easy-moderate because will have a stroller. (it's a heavy duty one great for trails). I...

Gonna cook me up some crock pot coon. Let the pot do me some cooking. (I am attempting a southern accent, however, I don't think it is working) You think it tastes like snake? Now that is some good meat. Hahahaha (I have tried it,lol)

Tribute to a Foxhunter: Pomeroy Crossroads

That's what is cool about the article because I would've never thought such a thing in the Pine Barrens. Maybe in the early 1900s and prior, but not something more recent. It is neat to learn these little tidbits from time to time that I never knew existed. As always a great job.

Tribute to a Foxhunter: Pomeroy Crossroads

Great article and discovery! The plaque looks older than the 80s though, weird. Crazy how they do their hunting in the Pineys, eh?? Are there really that many foxes in the pines to hunt? I really wouldnt have guessed! I like the way you wrote this article, the style is simple from beginning to...
