    Monitors; Dual or Ultrawide?

A little late to this party, but I wanted to put in my vote for a single widescreen monitor. I used to have dual monitors and in 2019 I went for an LG 34 inch curved monitor. I’ll never go back to dual monitors. I’m in IT so I spend all day staring at my screen, but even for the causual user...

    Pine Barren History Shorts

No worries... If it can't be posted than I guess I need to (eventually) invest in a copy of the original edition of the book :-)

    Pine Barren History Shorts

Guy, first off, a little belated, but I wanted to thank you for continuing on, people are certainly interested :-). Over the last several years, my family has parked at Hampton Furnace, walked down Rider's Switch and to the trestle, it has kind of become a family tradition. It got me thinking...

Guest Opinion: Devise a user-friendly vision for the Pinelands (Albert Horner)

What Allan said is true, Al broke up with the PPA because they weren't being hard nosed enough regarding off road vehicles. The PPA confirmed as much in a FB post. As an update to other OTNJ things, I've received a call back from the DEP regarding volunteer efforts and am due to talk with them...

My opinion on the opinion piece is that it is inconsequential. If you look at the article itself on the BCT site, it has 0 comments, which is probably indicative of what the general population thinks of it. On every outdoor enthusiast forum I saw it posted on, it was trounced, and in typical...

I’m also not looking to escalate. I have no issue accepting criticism, as you said Joe, heavy is the head. Perhaps our oppions differ a bit but we ultimately are fighting for the same thing. My offer remains to all here, I’m willing to accept any feedback, help or criticism. Peace, Joe.

Joe, we've seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot here. I never said there were no issues. I never said it was over. I never said that we knew everything. I never said that that we weren't willing to allow room for others. (I think I said exactly the opposite of all those things in these...

This is a fair criticism/concern. See my response to Joe as part of the dilemma, but we could certainly post more frequently. I should add that we do a much better job keep our FB page updated than our web page: https://www.facebook.com/opentrailsnj/

Not sure what happened, but it looks like it is back up now.

I'm not entirely sure what the implication is here, but I'll explain what I mean. 46er actually hit the nail on the head: the fire has to be stoked to keep it burning and to further his analogy, I'll add that the the fire also needs fuel to burn. What I mean is that to publically rally large...

This is exactly what Open Trails NJ exists for: http://www.opentrailsnj.org/our-mission/ "To create a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and maintaining access to Wharton and other state parks in New Jersey." Granted, we have less visible externally, because there hasn't been any...

Tabernacle Reverts To Two-Town Plan To Repave Sections Of Carranza Road

No, I was just thinking from Tuckerton to the tracks. It’s fine for a mountain bike but not really very rideable on a road bike. You hit one of those potholes at 20 mph and your going airborne. :-)

Tabernacle Reverts To Two-Town Plan To Repave Sections Of Carranza Road

This is great news, I hope it works out. I have always wanted to ride my road bike (bicycle) on that section but it is an accident waiting to happen so I haven’t.

    First Beach

Hey all, I can speak for OTNJ on this. We actually advocated for this project probably going back two years. I inquired about it again in the spring and was told that something was already in the works and we could look to do something else. So we knew something was happening but not with...

    GPS recommendations

Im a tech junkie and in recent years I’ve looked for excuses to try to purchase dedicated GPS units, but it has continued to make less and less sense, even for top end units. The last several years, ive used an older generation iPhone, in a battery case, using Gaia GPS. The experience is...

    Remote, Old Hidden Hunting Cabin

Awesome find! I was half expecting the video to be one of those "scare" video where something jumps out and the camera falls to the ground and keeps running.:eek:

    Pinelands Commission Resolution: MAP 2.0

In the short term, nothing. The roads in the resolution are what everyone would consider to be common sense roads. The question becomes how this baseline of roads is managed from here on out. Ideally the Commission would engage the various stakeholders in any changes going forward.

    Where is this?

Yep. I was flying to Puerto Rico for work and I noticed the telltale "lobes" of the lake and thought "hey that looks like...". I only have a few seconds to get the shot.
