    Let's Talk about the PPA

Spend a little more time here. Read about the PBX hikes. You'll find that all of us here advocate protecting the Pinelands.

    Let's Talk about the PPA

Looks like the PPA released a new piece of science fiction today. Right, because the ~5000 people who signed the petition against the way the MAP was rolled out are all driving trucks or ATVs. Let's gloss over the fact that people like environmentalists, historians, kayakers, hikers...

    What the heck is this?

Someone on the NJPB Facebook page just asked me was this was. Anybody have any ideas?

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The perfect outcome is where officials from all of the groups and the DEP sit down and come up with criteria for what closes a road. Then only the roads that fit that criteria are closed. Roads would be closed using something more substantial than those flimsy brown plastic signs. I'd suggest...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I think all of us would like to work with the PPA and other orgs like the NJCF to find a long term solution to the problem that everyone can live with. I think there's some good ideas coming out of the stakeholder meetings. Time will tell.

    Let's Talk about the PPA

What's even more interesting is how the stakeholder meetings are going. Check this out: But I have heard that at the non-motorized meeting there were 8 members of the PPA present, including Al Horner who was representing the "Pinelands Photography" stakeholder group. Perhaps not so...

    Let's Talk about the PPA

Ok I feel like we're beating a dead horse here. While I am not thrilled with the situation, it's the PPA and not PA that is out actively advocating to shut down access to huge swaths of the forest.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

I have to slightly disagree here. The most vocal anti-MAP people are saying that they're okay with not being able to go everywhere. From day #1 NJPineBarrens.com, NJOA, and OTNJ have all said that we realize the forest needs to be protected, that there's areas that need to be closed off. Those...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

And I know I've said it before, and I will say it again, but had the whole approach to the MAP have been handled differently, we probably wouldn't be having all of this hatred spewing on social media.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Okay, I went back and looked: You're right, you didn't say that I was okay with FFS people being injured. You were implying that I was implicit in people getting death threats by posting that photo. That discussion is in this thread below, which people should read in the entirety to get the...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The PPA has engaged in campaign of half-truths and outright lies to justify their support for the MAP. The "vernal pool" picture was the beginning. Then the pictures of the cut trees blocking roads -- Rob & friends denied it was them, but then recanted and said that it was them and then said...
