    Chatsworth Atv park

I don't know a whole lot on this subject, but a week or so ago, when speaking with someone at the Wharton office, I asked about the regs on off-roading. I was told: "Street-legal vehicles are permitted on established roads" (of Wharton State Forest). It seems real simple to me.

    Pine Barren Glory Days

Here are some great photos from what looks like the 70's, though I can't take credit for the photos or collage you'll see. This is one page of six. Each page is a compilation of several photos, which made up the "Uncle Lee Pinardo's Handy Dandy Piney Phone Book." If anyone's interested, I'll put...

    Old Photos

I can't take credit (but have written permission) for the photo collage you'll see from the link below. This is one of six pages. There are some wonderful classics, including the "King of the Pines", and Mrs. Buzby. Each page is a compilation of several photos, which made up the "Uncle Lee...

    Cloverdale Bogs

I am so impressed by all your photos - they are all great! It was so much fun meeting all of you today, and exciting to share what this area of the Pine Barrens has to offer! German, thanks for your time. It was so kind of you to share your knowledge with us. Now, we have to plan a canoe trip!

    Pine Barren Glory Days

I remember the early 70's - going to the drive-in on Route 72 - I can still recall seeing the scrub pines and sand around there. I think it was where the Holiday Inn is now. I also remember the airport in Stafford; treading for clams in the Bay and selling them at work; and my crab pots off the...

Burlington County bogs produce a bountiful crop

I'm so glad to hear you've enjoyed both the interviews. I am privileged to know both Cliff and Marilyn. Marilyn is a real gem, and I say that with all due respect! She's ornery, intelligent (her little toe is smarter than I'll ever be!), savvy and kind. Then of course there's Pumpkin, the apple...

Burlington County bogs produce a bountiful crop

It is a good life to live so near the Bay, yet still in the tranquility of the Pines. Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am; sometimes I forget. There's lots of exploring to be had here too, and who knows, maybe one day I'll find that gold that Captain Kidd buried somewhere along the shores of...

Burlington County bogs produce a bountiful crop

That is WONDERFUL news! Wells Mills is very near and dear to my heart AND my home - it's where I first really learned to appreciate the Pine Barrens about 25 years ago. Those of you who haven't been there are in for a real treat on Sunday. The lake is gorgeous; where I first learned to canoe...

Burlington County bogs produce a bountiful crop

German, would the County consider leasing the bogs to a cranberry farmer, the way the State does with Double Trouble? That could save time and money.

OC Parks "Ghost Town" Tour - Jan '08

Here's the link to that van tour:http://www.ocean.nj.us/parks/van%20tours%20pg2.htm I took this trip last year; it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. The naturalists do a great job, and as German said, they know it's Brooksbrae, not Pasadena. I recommend calling first to see if there are...

Thanks, German. Maybe I'll stop by to complete my collection, then wait another 10 years to sell it so I can retire, ha ha!

    Off Road Woe

The insurance is a huge issue - a registered vehicle must be insured, so it stands to reason that an unregistered vehicle might not have insurance, no matter how stupid that seems. So what happens? If an uninsured vehicle is involved in an incident/accident, the owner of the property on which...

    Decoy Show Hat Pins

Good idea. I had actually tried e-bay several years back, but your way makes sense. Thanks for the input!
