click on the link and go down to "open trails ideas for Wharton State Forest" A very well organized and precise plan. I would encourage everyone to seriously consider "getting on board" with these people.

    An Aussie recovery device

I like how they used an 80lbs girl to demonstrate it. I have seen a similar device before and I have heard of the old piney trick of using ratchet ties or a tow strap around the wheel to do the exact same thing. I would be concerned about damage to the axle putting that much torque on a...

    How old are you?

I found one of those in the pine plains once, might be the same one Guy has pictured. I didn't know what it was. I thought it kind of looked like a rocket ship:)

Man Goes Missing During Hunting Trip

I know the Yohnnsons. Nice people is my impression from casual encounters with them (makes sense, unpleasent people usually aren't involved in work of this nature) . They have some very large german shepards at their place.

Man Goes Missing During Hunting Trip

I would turn them into the police, Guy. It may or may not be related but the police should have them in their evidence file.

    Re-Wilding North America

Bears were re-introduced in the pines. However, there is little information on how those re-introduced populations did. The current bear population is more likely the result of migration from the north. Coyotes were not introduced and look how well they are doing here now. I don't know...

    Mary Lee is visiting

I have had an interest and curiosity about that event for many many years now. I remember my dad telling me about it when I was young. I grew up not too far away from Matawan. When that book came out I met the author and he signed the book for me and we discussed it a bit. The book was very...

Anyone with Knowledge of Animal Tracks?

Hey! you know, the possibility of a coydog is there but unlikely. I have seen some very large yote tracks...and ultimately I use the absence of human tracks and a deliberate path and the remoteness of the area as a determination of whether it is likely a dog or yote. I have found that most of...

    Destruction at Friendship

I was there also and was quite taken back by the graffiti. I just can't imagine why someone would go through the trouble to do that to something that is so obviously of historical significance.
