It was a dark dreary afternoon here, then about 5 minutes before setting, the sun dipped below the clouds and produced some really dramatic lighting in Mays Landing. The tops of the trees were all glowing orange while everything else was dark. Then a spectacular rainbow appeared - here's a pano from my iPhone

Apparently, if I had followed Route 50 North I would have found the Pot O' Gold somewhere in Egg Harbor City.

I had always thought that the quality of a sunset was a very local phenomenon, mostly subject to the nearby clouds, but it is obviously a lot more than that. Check this out, here is an article on a sunset forecaster that nailed Sunday night for our area:
