After 80 years, the Ocean House in Toms River is no more....

That's a shame. I remember having dinner there with my parents many many times over the year. Looked at having our wedding there too. What is really odd, is how the DOT says, according to the article, that the widening of the road would not affect the Tavern. So why did it have to come down? I...

Wanted: Late 70s/Early 80s Japanese Car

one of my college roommates had a "HoneyBee" first time I closed the door I thought I broke it. Reminds me of High School, one of our football coaches had one of the first Honda Civics,(the ones that looked like they had a suction cup around the rear window) some of the players picked it up and...

    Sea Breeze/Delware Bay, NJ

It's actually a nice drive. I'm going to Bridgeton next Thursday to videotape some interviews at the courthouse. It isn't a short drive even from Toms River, but once you get off the parkway I find it very enjoyable. Now that I think of it, it's an evening taping some I might make a side trip...

    Southern Railroad of New Jersey

not really a train nut, but after working in Scranton PA television news when Steamtown first came to the Electric City, I was kind of a train nut by proxy. ;-) We used to use a shot of one of the engines for a station ID, I am sure that is somewhere in my archive of 3/4" videotape (which I...

    Batsto Country Living Fair 2008

Thanks. After some tinkering last night I think the sub-optimal image quality is due mostly to forcing it to downconvert to SD in the camera. First floor of the mansion was open for tours, they said the upstairs will be ready for next months event on the 16th.

    Mummies for Paper?

Considering how protective Egypt is of their antiquities these days, that is unbelievable. Mummies for rail fuel, paper. i thought the whole idea behind mummification was they needed their bodies in the afterlife.

    Mummies for Paper?

that just gave me a chill... how bizzare, that's like exhuming bodies to use the wood from the coffin to build a house, or something like that....on a lighter note, it brought to mind a rather odd rendition of Monty Python's " Bring out your dead..."
