Always nice having these old threads. We hiked out to the Calico Ridge location just north of Martha today. No view of the river due to the heavy growth but lots of gorgeous mountain laurel. I didn’t know it was also called calico before reading it here.

Somewhere on Tuckahoe Road there's a cute brick church that looks like it was built by Catholics--there's a telltale inset above the door where a statue would have gone. Don't see it with a quick scan of Google Maps. Not sure I could place it other than by driving down.
