    Goshen in Camden or Burlington?

Redneck: You mention land already occupied...I have been to the area near the intersection you mentioned ( I believe it may show as Jeep Trail on some maps) and there are some interesting celler holes and remains of other structures. It appears to be a small cranberry operation. I know I am...

    Goshen in Camden or Burlington?

1887 Railroad Map While looking at the map collection I came across the RR map from 1887, and noticed a name I cannot recognize, on the south Waterford) side. I am reasonabley sure it does not say Goshen. I can read Atsion, Jackson and Parkdale, but the other name seems unfamiliar. Here is a...

    Sandy Ridge

I think I would agree with you Largo. Friendship is a short walking distance and the 8 or 10 houses at Friendship would not have had enough manpower to operate the cranberry operation there.

    Goshen in Camden or Burlington?

Goshen aerial views Here are some Google Earth images. Goshen House Rd, on the Burlington side looks like it would make a perfect spot for the community, hence the name, Goshen House Rd. If you extend a line directly from the end of Goshen House Rd, across the river, you will see the dam...

    Goshen in Camden or Burlington?

I have been searching on and off for a community known as Goshen. According to an 1846 map, Goshen was located in Camden County on the south side of the Mullica RIver, at Goshen Bridge. According to earlier maps, including one from 1826 and another from 1812, Goshen was located on the north...

    Around Parkdale...

I visited the above mentioned site last week. There are at leat five foundations in the area. The two closest to the road are stone foundations, which are most likely the oldest ones, and probably the main houses. Their is another smaller stone foundation which most likely was a storage...

LI's pines also have "ghost towns"

That is no Game Farm! As a former LIer I am very familiar with the Rock Point part of the pine barrens. What you have visited is not a game farm, it is the former Nike missile silo's, which were part of the air defense system for the East Coast.
