    Roberts Branch

Your all welcome! It's amazing what you can see out there in a canoe, a different perspective than just hiking on land and less chance for chiggers.

    Roberts Branch

I think it was 3-4 weeks ago. No one has been up there in years at least by water. There was an over grown trail to the peat moss bales. It would make a great canoeing creek if there were less obstacles. There was plenty of water for the canoe.

    Dead deer in the Mullica

This was not from my report to the state. Keep an eye on the NJ Fish and Wildlife White tailed deer page for future updates of the EHD epidemic. As to whether your domestic animals are at risk, I suggest you contact Dr. Douglas Roscoe at 908-735-6398. He is from the Department of...

    Roberts Branch

I bush whacked up the Roberts Branch in my canoe a few weeks ago, these are some of the pics from the trip. This is not your typical lazy river paddle. There's plenty of water for the boat but lots of fallen trees in the way. We only made it about 1.5 miles up in there and finally gave up...

    Dover Forge

There was not much of a water level difference on either side of the beaver dam when I was there. I think it's just from the lake backing up the creek. If you never canoed the Cedar Creek I highly recomend it. It's a great trip!

    Dead deer in the Mullica

I just found this article that was in last weeks Star Ledger about deer kills in NJ. Quote from the article: "On Sunday, canoeists reported seeing about 15 dead deer on the Mullica River in Wharton State Park near Hammonton and Shamong. "The carcasses were reportedly found by smell," noted...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

WOW!!! I can't believe I got a responce from NJ Fish and Wildlife on the email I sent them. Not much of a message but maybe someone will look into this. Hopfully the Dr. will reply to my message, I will keep you informed. This is the responce I got from them: Thanks for your message which I...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

I copied and pasted another article about the EHD but it said the post had to be reviewed by the mods. Maybe it was too large of post. It does state that when the deer become infected the get a high fever and seek out water. Possibly why they are dead in the water.

    Dover Forge

Very nice pics! I canoed the Cedar Creek about a month ago. Put in on Lacey rd. and took out at rt.9, we were supposed to go a little further to a beach in Lanoka Harbour for take out but we ran out of light. The creek was great! Very clean and clear especially for cedar water. The creek only...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

Well I just Googled deer dying and found many articles about it mostly in the south east and western PA. Here is one article I cut and pasted from the search. Whats is very interesting the article states, is that once the deer become infected with the disease they seek out water immediately...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

It doesn't seem like the fires would be the cause to me. If they were killed in the fire they would still be laying in the woods. As I said before there has not been any significant rain that would be capable of washing them into the river or down stream. Going out on a limb here, maybe they...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

Well I just sent an email to Nj Division of Fish and Wildlife explaining my findings and attaching my post here also. (I wonder if they will respond):rolleyes:Maybe when:pigfly: It has been fall bow hunting season now for a few weeks. If the deer were wounded by hunters you would think I would...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

Hello all I'm new to the site. I have been lurking for a few weeks now and decided to sign up tonight and share what I seen on my canoe trip on the Mullica river. We (me & my GF) canoed from Atsion lake to Pleasant Mills yesterday. (7.5hrs):bang: Along the way we encountered several dead deer...
