Hey Guy, great pics and an amazing find!!! Probably a once in a lifetime thing to find 4 together other then at a den site. Oh yeah, Kudos to Jessica also. She's a better person than I standing there videoing the group!! LOL!! One question to satisfy my curiosity, how much time did you spend...

Is this why Pine Snakes are a threatened species in the New Jersey Pine Barrens?

Well said German. I'm not a fan of snakes of any kind. But I give the members of this site 100% credit for easing my fear of them. I have the upmost respect for the people here who study them, and check on them when they can. I believe all creatures have the right to live on this planet just as...

    The NEW Beer Thread

For the summer, I'm a sucker for Corona. A few months back my wife, myself and another couple attended a beer tasting dinner at our country club. They gave us 9 different beers from europe during the evening. Not small tasting glasses either, regular beer drinking glasses they were meant to be...

    Capture

Thanks for sharing Guy. I for one, won't be buying that gizmo. I agree with 46er, with my 100-400 lens on my Dslr, my pants would down around my knee's before I knew it. However, for a point & shoot, it's probably a great thing. Last thing I need is for that contraption to give out and wind up...

Ben, on a side note, if I'm not mistaken, Gail Hunt was one of our tour guides when we did the Atsion Mansion.

    restricted areas ?

Pancoast, not to hijack the thread, but could you tell me what lens you used on this pic?? I have a 100-400mm Canon L lens. Would that do the trick for a shot like this?? Thanks, Chris

    Parkway tree cutting

Jeff, it is possible for the fire to jump the parkway. Especially if it's hot enough (the fire), and all it would take is the wind blowing in the right (wrong) direction and some burning embers, dry ignition source on the other side and it most certain could jump the roadway.

    Pic thing FYI

Monday night is usually my fire dept.'s drill night. I'll have to see what we're doing, and if it's something I can miss, I'd like to be at the Pic. Won't know until the last minute. Sidenote: Took the 'Vette for a nice long ride Saturday and found myself at Atsion after awhile. decided to...

    Recommend a Shotgun

Ithaca's are great. Mossberg is also a good gun. My personal favorite, although I do not own one yet, is the Remington 870. Benelli's are also great guns. Would have gotten the Remington this month had I not got a great deal on a Sig Sauer 556 semi auto rifle. I agree 100% with German on an...

Could someone be so kind as to let me know where Dix WMA is?? I'm guessing in the Ft. Dix area, but I could use some cross streets as a reference point. Might head out there tomorrow with the camera and new lens!! :)

    Tuesday with Alfie

I spent 1300 on a new Canon dSLR & lens back in Sept. and get the best pics as far as color goes, out of that camera. I couldn't be happier with it. What I would do with the other 9 large, who knows?? So Whip, as said before by others, I wouldn't be disappointed in the photos your taking with...
