    The Woodshed a forgotten place?

Was she the blond w the tattoos, the burnette that was into hunting, or the other burnette who was a little older than the other two? Stopped in at Mayo's the other day.. my new favorite honky tonk.

    Mink?

Anyone know what the numbers of mink are like in the pines? While driving home Saturday night around 10pm, I saw run in front of me what I thought to be my first mink sighting. I've come across many otter, both in NJ and at our place in the Adirondacks, but this animal was a bit smaller, darker...

    Tick

My pup had three on him during the mild break of weather we had in January. I guess they went down under again after that. They'll be more and more of them with these temps. Just started the Frontline again.

    where to fish?

Actually, Florida requested we purchase a salt water license the last time we went (a little off topic, but this is what I was thinking of in my previous post, not what NJ is now doing). Last timne in the keys we didnt need the license when we chartered, but did on the flats when out on a...

    where to fish?

Im all for this and don't mind paying next year, so long as this crooked state uses the revenue and data properly. These types of programs have worked well for other states (pretty sure Florida does this and the monies go towards helping the salt fishery).

    where to fish?

I just meant they'd be heating up soon. Saw some in the bay chasing schools and there's tons of bunker about. Should be a good spring. I dont get too into stripers til May/June when it becomes an addiction for me.

    where to fish?

Mostly pickerel in Bamber, but I have on occasion caught some bass, they're just few and far between. This is the case with almost all the pines' ponds, lakes, and creeks. Trout season is just around the corner and flounder in the bay opens the 23rd. Stripers aren't too far off either.

    House decor

This was the cheapest place we found nice quilts if you're shopping for bedsets http://www.countryporch.com/quilts/log-cabin-quilts.asp They have a bunch of other cool stuff for good prices too. We put this one on our log bed (but the photos from their site).

    House decor

Theres a few neat stores in Smithville, but nothing all too cabin-esque. One has some neat signs. If you're looking for furniture, I'd check out Lancaster before anywhere else. We got a log bed from the Amish when the ones I found online were anywhere from $600-$2,000. We paid $250. When I was...

    House decor

I got a log home. thecabinshop.com has neat stuff as does blackforestdecor.com, but a little pricey. Places like Cabela's have home decor too. I've acquired many prints on cross country road trips and small shops near our place in the Adirondacks. I dont have any newer pics but we've since added...

    Beer (again)

If you like stouts and bourbon, this is the nirvana of beers. Aged in used bourbon casks: Had it for the 1st time a few months ago and got hooked. Founders has been my fav brewery in recent times. These are great too: another great stout And lets not forget their fine ale.

Not the Pines, but fun nonetheless...

Nice pics. Were you near Danial Boone National Forest? Thinking of heading down there come spring or summer. Sad story about those animals.

    The Woodshed a forgotten place?

Heard the bad news that the Woodshed on 72 has closed. I hope a new owner takes over and keeps it alive. I loved the pool table, jukebox, and warmth of their woodstove. You know you're in a piney bar when there are more pickerel than bass mounted on the walls.

    Mark Your Calender

Think I ran into some of your hikers at the hill Sat. As my buddy and I pulled up in a black pick-up, 4 hikers were just leaving the tower and heading into the woods. Another couple in a pick-up pulled in right before us (guy and gal). A little overcast, but always nice. We did some warming...
