There are two standpipes in that graveyard that communicate with the mine fire and vent the gases, which lends to the fogginess, I think. It doesn't always smolder but it was that day. The graveyard is still active and accepting new clients, oddly enough.

We walked in about a half mile or so, it was kind of an interesting little hike between the piles of rubble. Someone took a lot of time trucking that in. It's quite an interesting place. Here are some more drone shots.
