    Strange Fly Deaths

They must just like to land on the lima bean leaves. Maybe it's the shape, size, and proximity of the leaves to the ground. The disease probably takes a while to kill them, it's not instant, so it wouldn't be anything about the lima beans. They probably just land there when they don't feel so...

    Strange Fly Deaths

COOOOL! You guys take the best photos on this forum. That's a fungal disease. I wouldn't worry about it unless you are raising flies for a living. :)

    Possible Tick Illness

The big ones besides Lyme disease that you can possibly get in NJ are Rocky mountain spotted fever ehrlichiosis babesiosis Who are you seeing about this? You have symptoms, so you know something is in there. Don't mess around with anyone other than an infectious disease guy. At least...

    Shark attack in LBI

Oh, that is such a bummer! What a big, magnificent shark. I'll be curious to know what killed it.

All she lost: My sister's battle with Lyme disease

What have you been treated with so far? What are your symptoms? They could be leftovers, but it could also be the bacteria coming back. If it were my body, I'd definitely take antibiotics again if the doctor recommends them. I am sure there is a lot of anecdotal data out there, and if vitamin C...

    Shark attack in LBI

Let's hope this story doesn't start another rash of shark shoot-and-dump.

unfortunate photos of apple pie hill

I have never been up there when there hasn't been smashed tv's and computers all over the ground under the tower.

    Something caught on camera?

Bug or reflection. There is no way that is a crop duster. Crop dusters fly about 80 mph, slower when they are actually dusting. Basically, the same speed as a car. They also look like this, not exactly what we are seeing on the video:

    Cedar Waxwing

Beautiful! What great eyeliner they have. I kind of like the blurry effect. It features them.

    Paper water bottle

That is fantastic. I hope they can contain pressurized beverages like soda, that would be really good. Remember paper gallon milk cartons? I wish they would come back too. What the kid says about plastic outweighing plankton in the ocean is true and frightening. That is what is so bad about...

    Flying Squirrel

If you find a remote cedar swamp and go there at dusk, you have a good chance of seeing them. Look waaayyyy up in the tree canopy.

    Plant ID

I don't see why not, but you'd need a LOT of lift. Like a weather balloon. The rig weighs a few pounds, and if there's not enough lift under the kite wing, it won't get it very far off the ground. By the way, I misspoke. Our best kite has a 10' wingspan and is delta-shaped.

    Plant ID

Joe found a website where someone describes it, I think. Lots of people apparently do it. We had to experiment with kites, and the best one we have (the one I had to rescue from the ocean yesterday) has about a 5 foot wingspan. It's great for low or moderate wind. The windspeed matters a lot...
