    They don't actually ever die out, ticks overwinter as larvae, usually first stage, but the latter stages can also survive. They have some good antifreeze in their blood, and when they can find some nice warm leaf litter, they will survive quite well. That's how they do business. If they can find...

    I use Repel-X for horses. After lots of experimenting with the human variety, we find that works best.

    The now-definct railroads up there are just incredible, too. Ever been to see the Paulinskill viaduct? That alone is worth the trip. And the Manunka Chunk tunnels are also well worth a look.

    I've hiked and camped around Sunfish Pond. It was awesome. :) The views from the trail in that area are really fantastic. You may even see a bear or two up there! :bear:
