I was in the area last night. Smoke on 206 was hrrible until you got to the area where the fire was parrallel. Then there was no smoke because of the way the wind was blowing. Sorry that it is hitting you so hard Rednek. Should be better by tonight....

I, too, did the same thing a week or two ago. I noticed the fence and took a step or five in to get a better look at the ruins. It just did not feel right, so I got out of there quick.

The landing gear is still floating around out there as are various pieces of metal. If you stand near the landing gear and look to where the tower used to stand you can see the line of broken tree tops and imagine the path the plane took on the way down....

You mean that the state forests don't get even a percentage of the hunting license fee? I always assumed that a percentage of them went to the state forests as well. Do the fees go entirely to the WMAs? If not, I would be curious to see a breakdown of how they are meted out.
