    Field behind Pasadena?

All I get to see is a highly stylized map of Chatsworth with the Chatsworth Lake. :( http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=chatsworth+nj&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=17&ll=39.877016,-74.448906&spn=0.006472,0.014119&t=k&iwloc=addr&output=html Nice, but no bogs ---or much of anything else... ...

Yup! "Target practice" --- trying--out and "showing--off" the new "hardware" to the "boys"... Watch yer back!!! They were "baiting" deer. Sometimes, they put out a salt lick, too! They were sweet potatoes...:eng101:

Does anyone know where I might find a postal zone map showing the RD/RFD routes that were "serviced" by the P.O. in Barnegat, in particular from the 1930s to the 1960s? I am also interested in "town" (not telephone!) directories from the same time period. ebsi

    Hunters

A "muzzleloader" is a modern--day term for a musket. Like Guy said, you pour in a measured amount of black powder into the barrel, take a small patch of cloth (or not), which in Revolutionary War times was greased, wrap a cast leaden ball in it, and ram it down the barrel with a ramrod. The...

    Hunters

That should keep you safe from those that can read, do read, and who follow the letter of the law... Of course, you could also honk a klaxon, beat a drum, or blow a fog horn --- or something (not advisable) ebsi

    Hunters

'Tis better to stay at home and read some maps, do library research or visit a museum, than to venture into the woods this time of the year ("Orange"/Red Duds, or no), and it will only get worse, until deer season (and "holiday time") is over. It is a proven fact that anything that moves is in...

    Waterfalls

Sorry, Ben, NOT TRUE! Granted, a waterfall cascading down a mountainside, like in Yosemite, or in Niagra, NY, is breathtaking and quite impressive, but the only geologic condition necessary for a waterfall is a geologic fault with a marked difference in height between the territory on...

...and not a drop to drink!

Yes, the same. The pond was on the verge of disappearing. The Lillies, for which the pond was named, had long disappeared. Someone got the idea of dredging... Cleared of decades of muck, the lillies gradually came back. Like the pond in Mount Laurel (?), the geese and ducks like it there...

    Whats up with the opossums?

Yes! ...but, they have no BACULUM. (For those of in need a gen--u-ine "Arkansawr toothpick")! Ummm, "possum stew"... Enjoy, Homer! ebsi

...and not a drop to drink!

Lake Lilly is filling--up, once again, with "bird poop"... Now they want to aerate the pond with a pump to "discourage" eutrification. Wanna bet it doesn't work/"last"? They did something similar, years ago, alongside the Cousins Restaurant on Bargaintown Road (EHT) --- spouted GREEN water...

Bob, "Plastic Wood" is the building material of the future. We are not growing enough "high--quality" wood to satisfy our burgeoning needs. It is not sensible, either for economic, or for a wide variety of environmental reasons, to buy wood from abroad... The boneheads who have the...

Answers from the Press Answer Guy... Question: What is “Herman?” I see it on a road map; It’s on the other side of the Mullica River between Batsto and Green Bank. But I know the area and there’s nothing there but pines. Answer: Well, howdy pardner. Looks like you just rustled...
