"An experimental documentary exploring the landscape, people, folklore and perception of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Directed by David Scott Kessler." Five years in the making. Till this point fully self funded by Director and his peer group. Final production work to be completed. If you are...

    Hedger House history

The ad for the Hedger House is pretty clear that the Liquor license is included in the price....I am a little surprised as I was under the impression that the license had been sold to another party. From the same Realtor...the PIC II for sale as well. Not the right time for me but interesting to...

    RAIN?

Forecast still looking good for rain on Friday/Sat and Tuesday....possibly more than 2 inches over the next few days! That would be a blessing.

    Brotherton Indian Reservation Village News

My understanding was that the burial ground was on the western shore of the pond a hundred yards (or so) north of the road (based on old maps showing location of the burial site).

    Pinelands Watch Activist PPA

Fair enough Sir. I do not work for the PPA but I am a member and their work to stop the Manchester development, working to prevent these pipelines, overall theme of upholding the spirit and letter of the CMP across the Pines are all things I support. Perhaps if it helps...the enemy of my enemy...

    Pinelands Watch Activist PPA

I agree with your statement but the PPA's actions seem to be in line with their mission statement of holding the Commissioners accountable to uphold the CMP. Glad to see some action on that part in continuing to let them know that folks care. I think once construction begins the level of public...

    Pinelands Watch Activist PPA

I am surprised to read some pushback on a public forum that is pro-Pine Barrens protection against organizing private citizens on how to continue to fight against the two proposed pipelines which weaken the CMP and open the door to further development as well as god forbid potential leaks or...

    Mid-Atlantic Expeditions

They are not operating as a business but more as a social club or even just a few folks looking to see some of the sites with a friend who knows some of the area. I think at a future date if the demand was high enough he might make it a business but not at this time. I have mixed feelings about...

    Mid-Atlantic Expeditions

Yeah, I met Leon/Lee at Lines on the Pines. They lead small groups of vehicles through the Pine Barrens and other locations. They have an upcoming "event" ok'd by DEP, FFS, and PPA :) that runs from Cape May to High Point State Park. Camping at Belleplain, Brendan and one other site up North...

    Signs of Spring

The difference a few degrees can make! I read on the National Weather Service page that yesterday was the 24th anniversary of the 1993 blizzard. Now that was a snowstorm! Frankly I am very disappointed today but thankful that at least a few inches of rain are falling in our area.

Western Camden County - About one inch of snow, raining steadily, ice covered branches and surfaces.

    Beyond Lyme

Definitely concerning. I already limit my field excursions to on trail experiences and even then I am constantly checking for ticks. Permethrin and DEET are great but traversing waist high grasses or through thick underbrush seems like a recipe for ticks to latch onto oneself. It is unfortunate...

    Signs of Spring

I want everyone to be safe and fully stocked/prepared but I hope "they" are wrong and we get even more snow than expected. Really pleased to have at least one actual snowstorm this year. Great opportunity for some Pine Barrens snow photographs.....and as always we sure can use the moisture! :)

12th Annual Lines in the Pines

    The Pineland Desert

Toothy, I think 46er's response was a bit tongue in cheek. Having said that the PPA is actively soliciting Trenton for an updated water plan. Here is a snapshot of what they are doing (including a video discussing the issue) : http://savethesource.org/...

    The Pineland Desert

Concern is warranted. All the reason more for continued enforcement of the CMP in regulating growth in the PB Reserve. On the State level numerous organizations are trying to get a statewide water plan in effect. We are blessed with a regular 40-50 inches of rain and significant aquifers but...

    Interesting map - light pollution

Oswego Lake is very good for capturing the Milky Way, other hostspots are the ball field at Belleplain State forest, and Spring Hill. I have yet to make the trek to Cherry Springs State Park in PA but that location is one of the best on the East Coast. Hope to see your astrophotography photos on...
