    Attention NJ Forest Fire Service

My exp has been people making decisions over the pine barrens and its species have no idea what they are talking about...but then again this seems to be the case with everything these days from our president down.

Really awesome Scott. Last weekend I saw over a half dozen eagles in Salem and Cumberland counties, must be active right now.

Obama plan for spotted owl targets rival bird

that area is really just backyards, some streams but nothing really special. Thought this would have been closer to the cooper by tavistock cc.

Obama plan for spotted owl targets rival bird

Barred owl in Hfield, wow. I've lived here my whole life and never heard a single owl. Wonder if this was close to the cooper river.

Sand operation could yield fracking riches

I think they use the sand for fracking. I thought the sand we had here wasn't the right kind, but if it is.... This spot is actually not the spot I was thinking of, this area is already a pretty active mine. I still don't know where the undeveloped tracks are and I don't like the sounds of that.

Sand operation could yield fracking riches

Terrible news, this area is special to me and I discovered an endangered species on the undeveloped tract.

    Gas

Gas prices are going up because of traders bidding prices up in the market, totally artificial. Media is throwing fuel on the fire by constantly talking about 5 per gallon and nonsense in the middle easst. Everything is inflating again just like last year, including commodities, equities, etc...

    Battling beetles in Pinelands

I think some people become over preoccupied with the ecological value of a standing pine tree in the barrens. Thinning of some tracks of land will do the ecosystem lots of good especially with the abscence of fire. Pine trees grow back quick. I think the pine beetles will eventually balance out...

The Sarracenia Flava was Fleeced (Trumpet Pitcher Plant)

Not totally a comment related to this exact incident as I don't know anything about plants and what is right or wrong for them. This is a comment on protecting the woods. What you all see here is something I've had to endure for years with reptiles and ampibians. People constantly poaching...

    ACE Property/Holly Orchard Development?

Yeah Boyd saw that as well. Everytime I drive by I hope the signs just keep aging and nothing fresh pops up...looks like its for rent.

    Coyote Encounter....Sorta

I would love to call in some red tails to show my nieces and nephews, there mom doesn't let them go out in the woods with me and their dad because they are afraid of lyme's. I guess I can't blame them.

    Coyote Encounter....Sorta

I've seen one bobcat and it was in south jersey at Manumuskin. Same thing though Chris, it was like a ghost, it heard me and saw me well in advance. I happened to glance up to my left and caught it walking away, I ran after it as it was only 25 feet away but it completely vanished out of site...

    Coyote Encounter....Sorta

Let me be clear i wasnt judging scott at all. I was curious to see his take on it because reading his posts he seems like a very traditional dude which i respect. Like i said im not a hunter, i would enjoy stalking prey, figuring out its habits but i just couldnt pull the trigger.

    Coyote Encounter....Sorta

Scott, do you like hunting by calling things in with a device like that? I'm not a hunter, though not against it. I think if I hunted I wouldn't want to use anything artificial. I think I would scout, sit in the woods and wait, like I said I'm not a hunter so that could just be ridiculous, hah.

    Coyote Encounter....Sorta

Al, there is no hunting in the preserve there (unless you weren't were I think), maybe that is why he was so nice.

    Pointing to Folsom

Sections of Burden Hill Preserve from what I remember are pretty piney. Pine barrens to me is where the species that are unique to the barrens live....and given that Folsom is straight up barrens.
