    NY's new law

I think the most ridiculous thing of NY's new gun law is outlawing all weapons with bayonet studs on them.

    Sandy aftermath

The last one-two punch in my lifetime was hurricane Donna in 1960 and the Ash Wednesday northeaster in 1962. I believe the northeaster did more damage in NJ than Donna and killed about 7 people on LBI. It stalled off the coast for several days. Donna, in my recollection, did some damage on the...

Gasoline Rationing Starts at Noon ---Help on Way

Odd-even rationing doesn't apply to Ocean County and 8 others. It looks like mostly Monmouth and north.

Pine Barrens in for late season hurricane or big northeaster?

Several projections have it coming up the Delmarva peninsula, into central New Jersey, NYC, and some into New England, courtesy of Hurricane Sandy. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/photo.php?fbid=462918223751769&set=a.175078442535750.35884.155048074538787&type=1&theater

4 Amish Arrested on Alcohol Charges

Most of these incidents with the Amish happen before they are baptized into the Amish faith. They can drink, drive motor vehicles, listen to cd's etc. That all ends when they become baptized members.

    Where's the Snow?

Raining only in South Toms River. About 2 inches fell prior.

    Where's the Snow?

I missed that one although accuweather does seem to be more precise sooner than the other commercial website, in my opinion.

    Where's the Snow?

I use http://z13.invisionfree.com/tristateweather/index.php? They generally have more accurate predictions. They called the Christmas blizzard days before the two big commercial weather sites.

Looks like we are in for more flooding

Check out this presentation. It also states we may be adversely affected by Hurricane Katia in addition to the new rains coming our way starting tonight courtesy of Tropical Storm Lee. All of this by next weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NusU_6fejQk

    Hurricane

Not much of an event in South Toms River. Some rain and wind. I've seen more wind when some cold fronts blow through and the rain didn't seem to equal the amount from recent thunderstorms in the area.

Wall Township mandatory evacuation, Belmar optional? Belmar is right on the ocean, Wall isn't.

    Storm damage

South Toms River got hit pretty hard last night by the storms. Check out the funnel cloud posted in the Asbury Park Press in Bricktown yesterday. http://cmsimg.app.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=B3&Date=20110729&Category=NJNEWS&ArtNo=307290098&Ref=H1&MaxW=300&Border=0
