    Kayak recommendations?

It must have to do with center of gravity. I am guessing I am more, uh, topheavy than you are. :)

    Kayak recommendations?

I've paddled these, my sister has two of them. They are not too bad! I was impressed. They are small but track well. Not very comfortable for long trips, but that's just me. Maybe I'm just a princess.

    Kayak recommendations?

I have always been a fan of Dagger kayaks. Something about the way they track is just right. I have had a few, one was a Perception Keowee that was not all that great, the balance was just off. It was made for touring so it had a bit of a keel, but it was extremely unstable. Now I have two...

    Beer (again)

I love beer and really appreciate a nice microbrew as much as the next chick. But I have to say, I have really not found much that I enjoy more than plain old Guinness. :)

10 inches of snow on the way.....

Nice! And it's the great, poofy kind of snow, too. I am savoring it. My husband is NOT of our ilk, like most other people, gets mad at me for expressing my love of snow. He grumped at me this morning because he shoveled the sidewalk. Sheesh!

    Mountain Lions in the Pines

You are right, I didn't write what I meant. (rough weekend, don't ask). I meant that if a genetic bottleneck resulted in the loss of all but a few hundred that the species was doomed.

10 inches of snow on the way.....

Holy COW, REALLY?! I guess I have not been paying attention. Weather.com for my area says that we should get 4-6" tonight and a couple more tomorrow. Joy. :)

    Mountain Lions in the Pines

Actually, that is true. It's estimated that at least a few hundred individuals are required to prevent a genetic bottleneck, which would be the doom of the population.

    The Pine Borings

Scientific American, December, 2007: Boredom is linked to both emotional factors and personality traits. Problems with attention also play a role, and thus techniques that improve a person’s ability to focus may diminish boredom. So it's not the Pines. It's you.

I resent that. I haven't been bored in years. I am avoiding a particularly horrific assignment.
