At face value, it appears the pendulum may have reached the end of its arch and is starting to swing back.

Article: Please Stop Tagging the Locations of Your Outdoor Photographs

Just because someone has the 'exact location', does not necessarily mean someone has the ability to find it. Unless it is a set of co-ords, and even then, I doubt there would be a mad rush. If a 'local' name is given then a search will probably turn up some details. The effort is commendable...

    Boom!

You would not believe the numbers during migration; birds of a feather flock together ;) Dog's explanation gives a lot more details from the radars perspective. Audubon's Fall Festival is later this month. The Morning Flight is a great show, at times thousands zooming by

    Boom!

It looks a bit like bird migration shown on weather radar. David La Puma, now director of the Cape May Bird Observatory, pioneered the use of it to track the intensity of migration. Some info from his web site which is no longer a source since he became director, too busy. Audubon also has a...

    Wescoat almost wins

I bought a couple of these for some camera gear for what turned out to be our wet boat trip to Machias Seal Island, inexpensive insurance but not suitable for full immersion. https://seatosummitusa.com/collections/outdoor-gear-dry-bags/products/lightweight-dry-sack The ferry to/from the...

    Wescoat almost wins

There is humidity in the air, a fan just moves it around, ac just makes it cooler, neither removes it all; the rice in the bag removes it all. Just don't get the rice inside the camera, place the camera on top of a pile of rice in the bag and be patient and wait. Some folks use a desiccant...

Don't turn it on or try to use it until the rice does its magic. Things could get fried. Remove the battery. My son left it on the rice bed for about 2-3 weeks after first giving it a quick dunk in fresh water. Check your lenses thoroughly.

    Wescoat almost wins

It may not be. My son dipped his 750 into the bay a couple weeks back and after taking proper care, turned it on a couple days ago and it works fine. Your in sweet water so should be salvageable if taken care of soon enough. Rice and a plastic bag is your friend.

    Plany Effigy

Is their an airfield near there or a town. It was a custom to designate the name of an airfield or town by 'painting' the symbol/name of it on the ground, typically done out west. Gardiner MT has a large G on a hillside done with stones, Livingston MT has a fish and the letter P...

    RAIN?

That's part of it, the leaf color changes are also part of the cycle. Complex stuff. We have had a good bit of leaf drop already. Autumn is on the way, 6 more days  We'll be up north the day after

Nope, walk-in beaver pond Brookies; should be in their spawning colors. They are all fun ;) The whole local tribe will be making the trip this year.

    Forked River Mountains

Bartlett has been instrumental in pushing for the acquisitions of the lands in the NLTF program. He has had a rough time over recent years. These county lands are open, but not designated recreational areas in the true sense, I.E. there are no picnic areas, ball fields, visitor centers, etc...

    NOAA lowers hurricane season prediction

This town is on the barrier island just north of Frying Pan Shoals, not looking too good for them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/kurebeachpier/permalink/10155555826426697/ Heard from my buddy last night, nothing since. Looking like we may got some if it as it loops around as a depression.

FIOS is coming to rural Atlantic County

HUH? The problem is they cut the main cable line in the ROW, his irrigation lines are on his property and were cut when they ran the line to the house. Of course they are responsible for repairs, but Comcast repairs their gear and bills Verizon. They sub out the irrigation repairs. Just an...

Same set up for us, 1 TV, but without the antenna. I had looked at an antenna, but do the streaming thing instead since the antenna would just get me Philly networks and some off the wall stations. Comcast came by on Monday and hooked us up with a temp line until a crew comes out to bury it...
