Hiked in to the Highland Park Gun Club the other day and found the ruins of the well and the foundation that are southeast of the dam. Does anyone have any information about what might have been here? It’s mentioned quite a few times on the forum, but nothing specific.

Any idea what that is?

There's a very similar looking building at 39.665657, -74.664018. Fairly identical. I was hoping to go check this out soon but I broke my big toe and am sidelined for the next several weeks.

I know where the Oswego Gun Club ruins are, but where are the Buck Tavern (maybe!) ruins?

Yes. Those are the holes that I'm curious about. If I recall correctly (and it's been about three years since I was there last, so good luck with that!), there was one very large hole and maybe two smaller ones. They were on the north side of the road going toward Shamong Road .

That's what I have for the cabin as well, but I'm talking about a couple of other foundation holes a bit farther off. These are fairly deep, what you'd expect for buildings with a cellar.

Spent some time with this today. VERY interesting! Might have to go slog in there soon and check out the bogs. I'm always impressed by the canals they dug and the dams they raised. Men of iron!!!

Taking the Scouts hiking this weekend on the Yellow Trail up from Batsto towards Mullica River Camp. Was wondering if anybody had any history on the Constable Bridge. Who was Constable, that kind of thing.

True! Takes a bit of imagination to be sure. But a very nice spot nevertheless. Couldn't get in to where pinelandpaddler suggested. WAY too many thorn bushes. Got the leg scratches to prove it. Probably a really busy place back in the day!
