    Demolition Derby

I saw a couple in my day (Englishtown if I recall). I was reminded of that when I had to travel to St. David's Pa to pick up a gaming laptop for my Grandson today. I was first shocked to find out that tolls from my house were about $28. Anyway, I had to get off the PA turnpike and onto 476...

Was not a big deal here, just rain, and not even downpours.

N.J. will give residents at least $100 credit to help pay for soaring electric bill bills, Murphy says

My house is crowded against another one, and the opposite side doesn't even see the sun on the windows until 2 or 3. Plus, I learned that it's comfortable to maintain the thermostat at 79 and use two small floor fans to rotate the air around the house.

I just got my electric bill for the past month. $179. I have 1600 square feet and central air. Good? Mediocre? Bad?

Visiting the ruins of the Batsto trestle

This is the 2015 map. Do I read this wrong, it was supposed to be open back then.

Riders Switch now has 3 whips.

It had to be because I asked John how he made it down there. Some lurker in here ratted us out. Can't talk about specific non-whipped roads locations anymore on this forum.

    Chigged!

"I sprayed my head, upper body and arms like I was spray painting old patio furniture" :p You are a riot Scott. Why don't you wear knee highs in that kind of territory? By the way, when I did that job I walked into one of the rare clearings in the swamp next to that lake, and immediately...

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

The hype for this impending tropical storm/hurricane has begun. They have it colored yellow on their aerials now, but soon it will be an angry red color to amp up the hysteria so they tune in to see ads.

Just think, I plopped myself down for the night, and didn't have to get up except for beer and snacks.

    Hidden Lakes July 30

Even though I camped there (once) and visited it several times, I refused to swim in that. Always thought it was creepy.

    Music for the day

David Byrnes did this song, not sure if he wrote it. But when Widespread Panic did it, I thought they did it better. Here where you are standing The dinosaurs did a dance The Indians told a story Now it has come to pass The Indians had a legend The Spaniards lived for gold White man came and...

The replacement I put in. Electric with a quiet fan. Very cozy and worked good. I did not see a huge jump in the bill.

Amen to that. Do you remember the Kerosene heaters in the houses? I had two of them. They actually were cozy. When I moved to Bamber in 82', wood burning was the thing. But like you, I got sick of it. Very dirty, sucks the moisture out of the house, smells, etc. I think I quit for good around...

    Oswego? Why not we GO.

This is absolutely the best stand of southern bayberry that I have ever seen. This is at the margin of a cedar swamp, so it has filtered sun and water. Nice combo for it.

    Oswego? Why not we GO.

For those of you who took a canoe down this river in the 1970's, you would not recognize it today. Rice grass is rampant. Changes the whole look. The photo is mostly rice on the river margins. https://www.fs.usda.gov/wildflowers/plant-of-the-week/zizania_aquatica.shtml

    Missing Woman

As to the search party, that would be real tough in the summer due to the heat and massive amount of vegetation, not to mention baby ticks and pine flies. Mid-October would be better. That is, unless there is some sort of obvious place to look based upon where the car was found.
