    Music for the day

In my opinion, some artists have gotten better over the years. Dylan, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Stan Ridgeway, and a few others. This is an odd pairing; Van Morrison and Linda Gail Lewis got together to do an album. Linda's brother is Jerry Lee Lewis (who I don't care for by the way). But...

Visiting the ruins of the Batsto trestle

I remember it being so when I was ranting about that main road having all the side roads closed (2023 I think). I guess minds were changed.

Visiting the ruins of the Batsto trestle

I thought that road was whipped with the wide plastic whips.

Visiting the ruins of the Batsto trestle

Is it a loaded question to ask how people are getting to the trestle now?

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

In the late 1970's a warden fined my younger brother $28 (good money then) for fishing pickerel at Presidential Lakes without a tag. He was about 19 then. I thought that was lame. Pickerel will never be fished out.

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

Where I live there are two nice ponds, with fish in them. Despite the no fishing-private property signs, young kids on bikes and older teens with cars come and fish. They seem to be clean, and nobody bothers them. I like to see them here and not in a drug den or darkened gaming room.

A treasure hunt in South Jersey has a hidden prize worth over $3,000

Don't have that that one, but a girl I knew picked this up for me in a second-hand shop in Hunterdon County 7 years ago (where that mill is with the huge waterwheel). I was arguing with the prorprieter over the price. When we went to have coffee, she ran back and bought it for me. He was...

    They’re back.

While I also do the overnight deal, I still spray permethrin on my pants right before I walk into the woods.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

If that 7 or 8 inches was Country Lakes, that is the Rancocas system, and so likely you'd see a swollen creek at New Lisbon. I need to get out of the house for awhile, so maybe I'll take a ride up there.

    Music for the day

That was interesting. Knew the song, but I never tied it with him. He is, I think, the same one who did "Ruby, don't take your love to town"? A good song. Is Chuck Barris the guy with the gong? That was hilarious.

    Music for the day

It was 9th or 10th grade in Presidential Lakes. I used to skip school with Ricky. He only had his mom, and she tried her best to support Ricky. But mostly they had eggs, and we'd scramble them up and listen to the AM radio (WFIL, WIBG, I think). This song was right up there. When I saw it...

That must be it. All I saw was a colored map with a circle in purple.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

I saw a report that somewhere around here got 7.3 inches. I could be off a bit.

These weather sites are way out of hand. This flood map, just pulled it up, trying to scare me where I live? Yet, look at their forecast below the map.

That was awful. I can see why God took him early. :D On the other hand, I did enjoy this one by Alan.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

Weather 'announcements' have become similar to clickbait. They use it to keep you watching and interested. It's why ABC nightly news starts off every broadcast with "we are monitoring deadly weather at (insert a bundle of states)". They oversell it.

Wet Forest - Formerly Known as Dry Forest

I thought you were much further south Boyd. I was thinking west of Woodbine. Here is where a giant dropped napkins on the hidden creek golf club.

    Sleigh Bell In July

Guy, I like the bell, but it's more fascinating to me to wonder if there was ever even a crossing there. Or were they on the ice.
