    Tick removal

Well that settles it. No more woods for me. I think I will become a city boy. Tomorrow I am going to buy some theater tickets, get some Dockers and a few button-down shirts. Anyone want to buy two F-350's ? I gotta get me some kinda import hybrid car. I'm so done with you hicks. :)

    Tick removal

Tried the removal trick in Post #1 this morning. I had two ticks embedded under each arm, apparently from running the dogs through some fire cuts last night. . I yanked the first one with my finger nails and the head snapped so I will wait for that to be ejected by my own natural forces. With...

    Coyote's

I just saw the attached video today. It is frightening to see how fast the coyote grabs and ragdolls the small dog. Thank God for his Rottweiler buddy. It brings some real fear into my mind regarding our two dogs. We are hearing more and more coyotes across the street from our house lately and...

    Phoneskope

It certainly looks like it's going to be a lot of fun Boyd. I never made it out to the bog yesterday for duck pics but I will post a few once I do. The Phoneskope is avaialble for the 6+ in two models. The one I have accepts the 6+ in an Otter Box. The other model accepts the bare phone.

Little Hawkin Run ... A PBX Hike

It was a great hike and the weather was more like May than March. The area sees very little human activity. As Guy said, it was Old School PBX with a some difficult woods work, especially the afternoon stream/jungle crossing. I managed to stay dry but many did not. The score was a solid 9 out...

    Phoneskope

Thanks to a tip from 46'er, I looked at Phoneskope adapters for my spotter. I bought one for my Redfield spotter that accepts an iPhone 6+ in an Otter Box. It came in the mail yesterday. I took these this morning at the bird feeder. I am going to hit the bogs out front later today and see if I...

One of L&L's concrete trucks went through the bridge about twenty years ago. It sees a lot of traffic and takes a beating.

The Kite Report - the Kallikak Family

I love the opening statement, "Today morons...." Being deemed a moron isn't so bad, considering that a moron has the higher level of intelligence when compared to an imbecile or idiot. I always found it interesting that all three of those terms have IQ values associated with them. My mother and...

    Missing man

This is a very sad story. The man used to work for us about 27 years ago. He was a free spirited, happy-go-lucky guy. I read about the disease he has and it is frightening to say the least. My most vivid memory of him was the night we decided to try out his new Bronco II in the woods off 206. I...

    Beer (again)

The Brotherton IPA is one of the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, they do not have a tasting room. You have to track them down through restaurants, liquor stores and bars. Their website has a list of venues where their products are available and it's lengthy.

    NJ F&W - 125 years

A 1922 PA license from when my grandfather was a forestry student at Penn State and hunted PA. Note that hawks and owls could be killed at any time with or without a hunting license. Also note that the bounty on wild cats was $8 and only $2 for a fox. And don't forget to report your hawk nd owl...

    NJ F&W - 125 years

A few more pieces of NJ hunting history. 1916 and 1917 Game Laws published by a Camden gunsmith. Only 4 days of deer hunting and they were all Wednesdays. Interesting note: Hunting most small game species was illegal with a tracking snow on the ground.
